I had the sunroof deleted using a New factory Porsche roof skin, the work was performed by Stuarts Paint and Body in Dallas Texas

The car has not had any collision damage and was verified by Stuart’s at the time of the sunroof delete. The car was completely stripped of paint on the outside and all glass removed as well as the doors. The reason I had the car stripped to bare metal is someone made their way into my garage and sprayed oil flow solvent on part of the car, which I didn’t notice for some time and it bubbled the clear coat in some spots, so I had the paint completely stripped when I replaced the roof skin.

I also had the headlight washer nozzles deleted and Euro front and rear bumper covers installed along with a new RS rear glass and Ruf mirrors. The work was performed in 2007 and the car has been driven less than 1000 miles since the work was completed.

Interior upgrades include the following, all factory Porsche parts.

RS headliner

RS carpet set

RS door panels

RS door pulls and handles

RS manual window lifts

RS steering wheel

RS kick panels

RS knee protection pads

RS seatbelt retractor covers

Also

Heigo roll bar

Schroth 5 point harness both seats

Recaro SPD seats and sliders

The car has the following mechanical upgrades

G 50-31 RS gearbox from Porsche

RS shifter-transmission mount and engine mounts

RS clutch-pressure plate and flywheel

RS fan pulleys upper and lower

Replaced stock cams with Factory Porsche RS cams and Rennsport systems (Steve Weiner) replaced the valve guides and did a valve job, he also did a ECU upgrade to match the RS cams

Replaced all gaskets and o’rings with Wrightwood Racing gasket kit

Fabspeed header muffler kit w/o heat

Brad Penn oil

Cargraphic oil cooler

RS evo front uprights and tie rods

RS front and rear sway bars

Camber plates

RS strut brace

PSS 9 coilovers

ERP monoball rear camber-kinematic and toe arms

RS brake calipers-rotors and pads

Goodridge brake lines

BBS Motorsports E88 3 piece wheels from Joel Reiser with new Michelin Pilot Sport tires 235/40/18-295/30/18

According to my Longacre Scales the car weights 2781 with approx.1/2 tank of fuel

I have removed the A/C-Heat and Cruise control along with both airbags, I do have the stock exhaust and A/C parts as well as the cruise control parts and airbags

LaFerrari, McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and Agera R take to Assen

Tue, 10 Jun 2014

It's the show-down (sort of) we've all been waiting for. The battle of the hybrid hypercars from the performance powerhouses of Europe: Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. No one publication has managed to get their hands on all three just yet, but this video has - and with a Koenigsegg Agera R thrown in for good measure.
The video was shot by our (unrelated) Dutch compatriots at Autoblog.nl at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. The track has played host to Champ Cars and all manner of racing bikes, but this could be the ultimate grid of actual production machinery that's ever lined up behind its start/finish line. Shame the weather was rainy and this unsurpassed array of supercars weren't really racing - more showing off for the crowds. But what a show it was. Scope out the footage in the video below.

How Porsche got Patrick Dempsey into the driver's seat for Le Mans

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice. Ask Patrick Dempsey and he'll likely tell you the same secret for landing a role on a hit TV show or, for that matter, driving a Porsche in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
That's because, like McQueen and Newman, Dempsey has earned his place in that rarified field of actors who also race. He's competed in Baja and Grand-Am, co-owns an IndyCar team, and this year returned to Le Mans where he and his teammates Joe Foster and Patrick Long finished fourth in the GTE-Am class behind the wheel of their Porsche 911 RSR.
It's a grueling race, and the fluid transition between drivers behind the wheel is a key element to success. Check out the satirical video below to see how Dempsey and company got ready.

Volkswagen Group previews its wares on eve of Geneva show

Mon, 05 Mar 2012

The Volkswagen Group is comprised of 11 brands producing 240 vehicles across 49 factories throughout the world. So the best way to show off the range of the VW family is to cram a few thousand journalists and VIPs into a massive makeshift stand to outline the Group's goals, what's in the pipeline and what you'll be able to buy later this year.
To that end, VW pulled out all the stops on the eve of the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, bringing along 10 vehicles from across the range. We'll be delving into the details of each over the next two days of show coverage, but before that happens, you can read all about what we saw tonight from the cheap seats after the break.
