2000 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet 6-speed Manual 3.4l 6-cyl on 2040-cars
Sterrett, Alabama, United States
2000 Porsche cabriolet convertible. Speed yellow with black leather interior. It has TSW rims and the tires are in good shape. I bought the car in 2007 and it had 36000 miles. Currently, it has 65000 on it. It has been well maintained with scheduled oil changes with Mobil -1 synthetic. I have never had any real problems. I had Porsche brake pads installed a couple of years ago and I have not used the car much since then. I replaced a headlight and the water overflow tank and the RH seat belt sensor. I also recently installed new front hood lift cylinders. It has always been garaged so the exterior and paint are in great shape. There is a small dent in the front fender as seen in the photos. The exterior of the top is nice, but the inside has a small issue . Right in front of the rear windshield, the top has sagged and needs attention. The oil was just changed and the battery was replaced about 2 years ago. I love the car , but I have a 2003 Twin Turbo 996 and now that I am divorced, I do not need two Porsches! The A/C has always been great. The car drives like it should and the tires were aligned and there are not any uneven wear patterns after all these years. I would get in it and drive anywhere! This car is very flashy and will be really hard to part with. I wish my silver 2003 was Speed Yellow.!

Porsche Cayman GTS in track battle with 996 GT3
Wed, 09 Jul 2014Here's your tough question of the day: Would you rather drive a new Porsche Cayman GTS or a slightly older, 996-era Porsche 911 GT3? Certainly, both cars have their plusses. The Cayman is the more modern proposition, sure, but the GT3 is, well, a GT3. So yes, it's a tough decision.
If you're one of the lucky souls that have to make that choice, then this video from Evo should prove pretty helpful. It's a track battle, starring Jethro Bovingdon with a new GTS and an old GT3.
Calling the GTS "fantastically agile" and "fast, but it's also hilariously good fun," Bovingdon bangs home a solid lap time of 1:05.2 before switching to the GT3. It's remarkable to see just how dated the 996-generation 911 looks after viewing the newer Porsche, and from where we sit, it's further proof that the old car's headlights are something that's best forgotten. Styling qualms aside, though, can the GT3 keep up with its racy younger cousin?
eGarage video features Helmuth Bott's personal Porsche 959 prototype
Fri, 12 Apr 2013"We thought we were going to build a super-911," said Peter Schutz, former CEO of Porsche AG of the development of the Porsche 959. That was before it started getting expensive. At that point, Helmuth Bott, Porsche R&D director got frightened. Costs ballooned because of the all-wheel drive, sequential turbocharging and other technology Porsche had never even thought about when it set out to build a 911 to compete in Group B. Schutz continued, "The amount of resources we were committing got totally out of hand." Instead of pulling the plug, Bott doubled down and drew on the strength of his brilliant team to build a car whose impact is still echoing aross the industry.
"It's probably one of our most prized possessions" says Don Leatherwood, Director of the Brumos collection where Dr. Bott's personal prototype resides, and where Frazer Spowart went to see the car and create a video for eGarage. Check out the sights and sounds of the 959 before it was the 959, and get personal takes on the car from Hurley Haywood, Peter Schutz and Don Leatherwood. Keep reading to see the video.
Audi welcomes Porsche back to Le Mans like any sibling would
Fri, 06 Jun 2014Ah, sibling rivalry. It really is a beautiful thing. It's even more beautiful when said siblings are automakers with very, very well-known racing histories. That's how you get videos like this, which is Audi's way of welcoming Porsche back to the top flight of Le Mans racing.
Yes, Audi has taken its R18 E-Tron Quattro back onto public roads, wowing schoolboys and scaring farmers (who appear to be riding classic Porsche tractors), as it travels from Ingolstadt to Zuffenhausen, just to taunt its corporate frenemy.
Take a look below for a video to see just what that teasing looks like.
