You know what it is. The last of the old school beasts. This the the original. Stripped down, no frills, No traction control. Difficult to drive fast without some training. Unforgiving, twitchy, a real handful. But if you respect the power and understand your limits, there is nothing like it. The most fun you'll ever have behind the wheel. In this car you'll start noticing that other drivers follow you holding up cell phone cameras. Park the car and watch a crowd gather. Go to any car show and instantly have one of the rarest vehicles there.

FOR SALE is my pristine, 2003 996 GT2. Here are the specifics:

1. The interior is stock with factory radio and CD player, It is in flawless condition
2. The exterior is unmodified. Paint is morror perfect. No dings or dents. This GT2 is covered from the hood and quarter panels forward with professionally installed clear bra at Pro-Tect film in Las Vegas. Clear bra also covers the A pillars, side mirror housings, rocker panels, and the rear quarter panels where they flare out in front of the rear wheels.
3. Performance modifications are as follows:
A. Ultimate Motor Werks (Seattle) 3 Stage tune/software upgrage allowing HP adjustments before starting engine from 500HP (stock) 560HP (91 octane) and 620HP (100 octane). The tune also has a valet mode as well as a kill mode. (Stock HP is 500 from 485 because of GMG exhaust upgrade)
B. Ultimate Motor Werks (Seattle) waste gate upgrade.
C. Audi Motorsport diverter valve upgrade (allows for more precision and a faster reaction rate)
D. GMG WC-GT exhaust. ($4900.00) 40 Lbs lighter than stock exhaust.
 E. Custom built 100% Porsche Parts GT3 based short shifter by Trophy Performance in Las Vegas.
 F. O.Z. (Italy) Alleggerita HLT wheels. (Stock wheels will also come with the car)

My goal in making the engine/HP upgrades was to tweak performance without affecting the nuts and bolts of the stock engine. This engine can be easily modified to 800+ HP, and there are a handful of qualified shops around the country that would be happy to do it, but I wanted to keep things as pure as possible while still increasing performance and not changing the character of the GT2 as it was meant to be.

I am a BMW/Porsche enthusiast. I have meticulously cared for this car. It has been garaged kept and NEVER driven in the rain, EVER. It is a weekend car for me and is only driven when conditions are right. Mobil1 0W40 oil change every 3000 miles. Full oil change log with change dates and mileage based oil level record included. Other than performance upgrades and oil changes, no engine repairs have ever been required for this vehicle. Additionally, I have had a complete engine fluid and coolant replacement twice between 1800 and 19,000 miles. Also, coolant as been replaced one more time separately. O2 sensors have also been recently replaced. All work has been done at either GMG in Santa Ana, California, Trophy Performance in Las Vegas, or Gaudin Porsche in Las Vegas. (The car was trailered on my personal car hauler for all trips to and from Orange County, California).

Regarding the software upgrade, I have only driven the car in 500 HP stock mode or 560 HP mode. The clutch handles both of those modes very well. In 620 HP mode the stock clutch has a difficult time handling the torque. A clutch upgrade will be required to take full advantage of the 620HP mode.

One of the best things about this car is the sound. The GMG exhaust is perfect. Under load and with the turbo's kicking in It rivals the sound from any supercar anywhere.

Since purchasing this car in January of 2009 with 1890 miles on the odometer, I have only run it on 100 octane racing fuel ($8.00 gal), no exceptions. I only fill the tank halfway to require more frequent fill ups in order to avoid octane degradation with fuel sitting in the tank. The car was tracked one time at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park in Pahrump, Nevada, during a Porsche Club track day, no racing, no issues. Less than 20 laps total for the track day on Toyo R888 tires which will be included in this sale. The car is now running on Michelin PS2's.

Please email me with any additional questions regarding my GT2.

Despite premium carmakers going downmarket, luxury auto sales stick at 10-11%

Thu, 16 Jan 2014

According to research conducted by global information company IHS Automotive, the leporine birthing of new models by luxury manufacturers over the past six years hasn't increased their market share in the US. Even as car sales reached 15.6 million units, IHS says what's happened instead is that luxury buyers are merely moving from one brand to another, moving from larger luxury vehicles into hot segments like compact luxury crossovers or leaving the market at the same rate as other buyers enter.
Whether broken out by makes or by segment, market share has rollercoastered inside a narrow band from 10.5 to 11.5 percent since "at least" 2008. Closer investigation reveals the shifting boundaries in the aspirational pond, with brands like Mercedes-Benz and Audi gaining territory as Lexus and Lincoln lost it, and Saab and Hummer were buried, dead, under it. One neat note is that Tesla has gone from a share of zip to .12 percent.
The subcompact and compact crossover segments show growth, with those little high-riders jumping from .3 percent to 1.16 percent of overall industry sales. Their rise, though, is concomitant with the decline of four other segments: compact and midsize cars and fullsize cars and SUVs. We think the next few years that will tell if the small-car expansion can overcome the large-car retraction, with a phalanx of smaller offerings like the CLA only recently hitting the market and others like the GLA, Macan and Q1 doing so in the near future.

Porsche Cayenne, Panamera production halted by flooding

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

If you recently ordered a Porsche Cayenne or a Panamera, delivery may take a little longer than originally expected. Automotive News reports that production of both models has been temporarily halted at the Porsche assembly plant in Leipzig, Germany as the result of supply shortages caused by flooding in the nearby Czech Republic. The reason for the stoppage is that the body of the Cayenne - currently Porsche's best-selling model - is produced at a Volkswagen plant in the Czech city of Bratislava and shipped by train to Leipzig.
The report does not indicate why Panamera production has been stopped - that the five-door's body is made at a separate location in Hanover, Germany. However pre-assembly will continue on these models. At full capacity, the Leipzig plant can produce about 450 vehicles per day, and it isn't clear how long this weather-related stoppage will last.

2012 TechArt Porsche 911 is visually dazzling, both inside and out

Wed, 07 Mar 2012

One way to ensure that your brand-new Porsche 911 (a.k.a. 991) won't look like the one in your neighbor's driveway is to give TechArt a call. The famed German tuner has rolled out its version of the latest Carrera and Carrera S at the Geneva Motor Show and trust us, it won't be mistaken for anything from the factory in Stuttgart.
Up front, TechArt has fitted its own unique two-part spoiler with integrated splitter while more aggressive side skirts adorn the rocker panels. The rear has a new lower diffuser, wrapped around the TechArt exhaust, and a large fixed rear wing (complete with an integrated third brake light). Look more closely to notice the subtle trim panels on the exterior mirrors and front headlights. The wheels are lightweight forged 20- and 21-inch alloys with matching paint on their rims.
Inside the heavily modified cabin are even more drastic enhancements (let's say TechArt has gone over the top). Don't let the aluminum pedals be a distraction as you inspect the black Alcantara and high-grade leather covering nearly every square inch. Flirting with gaudy, the dark upholstery is contrasted by vehicle-color-coordinated stitching and painted trim splashed throughout. However, the icing on the cake is an insanely thick TechArt three-spoke sports steering wheel.
