Up for sale is my prized Carrera 4S. Four-wheel drive model. The car is fully optioned and only has 9k miles. Still has WARRANTY until October 2013. Kept in a heated garage and only taken out on sunny weekends, as evident by the low mileage. 2009 was the first year of the Carrera facelift, so the car is still fresh. The facelift includes the LED daytime running lights and updated interior, navigation system and updated transmission (PDK) - which is excellent.

All service was done by Porsche of Roslyn on time and the car is perfect. The paint job alone (GT Silver, the same color as the 500k Carrera GT) cost me an additional $3,125.

I have a copy of the original window sticker from the dealer, it was over $117k, and if you wanted to buy a 2013 model Carrera 4S with identical options, it would cost over 130k due to the yearly price increases Porsche applies.

I will list the additional options;
- PASM Sports Suspension
- PDK Transmission
- Self Dimming Mirrors
- Heated Front Seats
- Bluetooth
- Sport Chrono Package PLUS
- Navigation
- Bose high end sound package (it gets very loud)
- XM Radio
- 6 Disc in dash CD changer
- Multi function leather steering wheel with PDK paddles
- Black FULL LEATHER (rare option and very nice, the whole interior is covered in leather, you will feel no plastic on the dashboard)
- Instrument cluster painted to match GT Silver
- LED door pocket lighting
- Floor Mats with leather surround
- POWER comfort seats with memory
- GT SILVER METALLIC (over 3k paint job option, and very rare)
- Rear Center console in FULL LEATHER
- Steering column in FULL LEATHER
- 5mm wheel spacers
- Porsche crest in headrests

As you can see, there is not a single option this car does not have. The carfax is clean and perfect, and the car has zero damage/accidents. I babied this car- the only reason I am selling it is because I just purchased a Cayenne Turbo. Both keys are included. Vin # is WP0AB29999S721382 , it has a perfect history.

Mark Webber gets early clearance for Porsche departure

Thu, 28 Nov 2013

If there's no rest for the wicked, there's surely even less rest for the wickedly fast. And make no mistake about it, Mark Webber is wickedly fast. He may not have proven able (or given the opportunity, depending on who you ask) to emerge from Sebastian Vettel's shadow after six seasons partnered with the multiple world champion at Red Bull Racing, but he's still won nine Formula One grands prix, to say nothing of the sports car races he won with Mercedes in the late 90s. But now he's leaving F1 to anchor Porsche's new LMP1 program, and according to the latest reports, he's departing Red Bull for Porsche sooner than expected.
Typically an F1 driver is obliged to stay with his team until the end of the calendar year - not just the end of the racing season - helping out with things like promotional events and fine-tuning next year's car. But news.com.au reports that Red Bull has given him early leave, so once the racing action in Brazil is done on Sunday, he's departing straight for Porsche's racing headquarters in Wiessach, Germany.
It won't be Webber's first visit to the facility, having already swung by to have his new seat fitted. But his early arrival will undoubtedly help him and Porsche get up and running ahead of schedule. The move may have been facilitated by a new sponsorship deal that could see Webber carry Red Bull with him to Le Mans, so don't be too surprised to see the energy drink company's logo on the side of the new Porsche once the new racing season gets under way next year, whether in concert with or instead of the anticipated revival of the Martini Racing livery.

Which is quicker in the standing mile, a Subaru WRX STI or a Porsche Cayman?

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

The 2015 Subaru WRX STI and 2014 Porsche Cayman are both saddled with unfair reputations. The STI with its huge wing and gold wheels has the title of the ultimate boy-racer. On the other hand, Porsche brand snobs look down on he base Cayman as just a wannabe 911. In reality, they are both pretty fantastic performance cars. But what would happen if the two of them lined up at a stoplight, and maybe the guy in the suit in the Cayman started throwing some revs at the young man in the STI? Automobile decided to find out in a recent video pitting the two stereotyped hot rods against each other in a standing-mile drag race.
In terms of raw numbers, they are surprisingly close. Both use flat engines and six-speed manual transmissions here, but the Subaru has more power and torque. However, the Porsche makes up for it with 300 pounds less weight. Neither should have a problem with traction either thanks to the STI's sophisticated all-wheel-drive setup, and the Cayman's mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout.
The comparable specs certainly show themselves in the real world for the race. We're not going to give away the winner here because it's too exciting, but let's just say the finish is very, very close. Scroll down to watch both of them shrug off their stereotypes and show off their real performance.

Studiotorino shows new Cayman-based Moncenisio sports car

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

While the recent bankruptcy of Bertone shows that it has become very difficult to be a coachbuilder today, it seems there is still a business case in creating unique bodies for premium vehicles. Case in point, Studiotorino a small, Italian coachbuilder that has been creating limited-edition cars since 2005. Its latest creation is the Moncenisio, which debuted as a prototype at the National Automobile Museum of Turin on March 21. It's named after the 1902 Susa-Moncenisio race in Italy, the first automotive hillclimb in the world.
The Moncenisio begins life as Porsche Cayman S, and each car will be built to order with a planned production run of 19 examples. The chassis, mechanicals and engine are all left untouched. The only thing that Studiotorino alters are the body panels and interior appointments. Prices start at at a heady 145,000 euros ($200,420 US), plus the cost of the donor vehicle.
Architect Daniele Gaglione penned the shape of the Moncenisio, taking inspiration from the 1963 Porsche 904. The sports coupes receive carbon fiber pieces that replace the front bumper, side panels and rear bumper. Studiotorino also covers the rear side windows with welded metal panels. The design is still clearly a Cayman, especially from the front, but the extended roof and support pillars create a new look from behind, which features a new exhaust treatment and rear spoiler. The interior receives leather upholstery on the engine compartment cover, the partition between the engine and seats, ceiling and A-pillars. Scroll down to view a walkaround of the Moncenisio and read the full press release about it.
