Lower Opening Bid

Clean Florida Title
No liens

Any 911 Owner with a good drive train
but edgy body should
take a close look!

This is a great "Roller"    Missing Engine and Transmission.{At Motor Meisters in Ca.with $1,000.00 toward rebuild}  Great Body,Paint, Interior and New Brakes  Take a look at the photos!    Cooper wide tires with Newer Porche 5 spoke Factory Wheels...

I have too  many projects.... My loss your gain.

P.S.   I am attempting to resolve the open issue of the Engine & Trans Axle with
Motor Meisters.   At this time they, the motor & trans axle are NOT a factor, as a part of this auction....      But they may become available once issues and obligations for work completed and any storage fees and liens are           adequately  resolved.

P.P.S. Motor Meister referred me to a company that processes liens for them. {Grant Liens}  I am now awaiting to hear from John Grant, to see what bills have accumulated and what actual work has been completed.....
So,  I guess they, {the engine & trans axle} are still in California, the land of "Fruits and Nuts".....

P.P.P.S.   I guess things are a little confused in the "land of fruits and nuts"!  The lien I just received was for work done and towing storage charges for a porsche that must belong to someone else!   My 1977 porsche has never been in California - so hopefully they just have my engine and trans axle on a shelf all rebuilt and just
waiting for the rest of the bill to be paid....

I may be willing to sign over my rights concerning this
open issue to the winning bidder.

Any "Investigative TV Producers" or California lawyers looking for a nice ride
and a good case should consider bidding on this find.

Porsche Macan configurator lets you build $110k crossover

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

Part of the idea behind the new Porsche Macan is that it's less expensive than its larger sibling, the Cayenne. But with a starting MSRP of $49,900, the base Macan S is actually $300 more expensive than the cheapest Cayenne. That, however, is just the start, as you can see from the online configurator.
As is often the case with German cars in general (Porsches especially), tick the right boxes and you'll soon be leaving that base price behind in a cloud of tire smoke. Start off with the Macan Turbo and you're looking at a base MSRP of $72,300, which is already over twenty grand more than the naturally-aspirated version. But even that soon escalates as the options pile on.
Aurum Metallic paint will set you back $3,120. 21-inch wheels, another $3,300. You'll probably want the air suspension, torque vectoring, the Sport Chrono package, adaptive cruise control and lane-change systems, and those each add over a grand to the price. A Burmester surround sound system is the single most expensive option at $4,290. And if you choose them all - and choose all the optional trim packages - you'll soon be looking at a price in excess of $110,000. That's enough to get you into a Cayenne Turbo... assuming you don't tag on all the options to that one, too.

Porsche LMP1 to use 4-cyl hybrid powertrain [w/poll]

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

With the Formula One season - and indeed his entire F1 career - now behind him, Mark Webber took advantage of his early release from Red Bull Racing to try out the new LMP1 which Porsche is developing, undertaking the final test session of 2013 before Porsche throws it head first into the FIA World Endurance Championship next April. The session - which followed previous tests at Magny-Cours, Monza, Paul Ricard and the Eurospeedway at Lausitz - was held at the Algarve circuit in Portimão, Portgual, in collaboration with Michelin, which is developing the tires for the car. But that's hardly the news here.
No, the news is the first confirmation we've seen on the type of powertrain Porsche has developed for its new Le Mans prototype: a gasoline-burning four-cylinder engine with direct injection and two energy recovery systems. This contrasts sharply with the V6 turbodiesel and single electric motor used by Audi in the R18 e-tron Quattro (or at least the outgoing version) or the naturally-aspirated V8 and single electric motor found in the Toyota TS030. Flexibility in the rules set down by the FIA and ACO give the manufacturers that kind of latitude, prompting F1 teams like Ferrari and Renault to consider developing their new engines for Le Mans prototypes as well.
At this point Porsche isn't saying how large its four-cylinder engine is or how much power it will produce. But it'll be interesting, to say the least, to see how it fares against the Audi and Toyota in next year's championship and at Le Mans when it'll be piloted by Webber, former Lola LMP1 driver Neel Jani and Audi's own 2011 Le Mans-winning pair of Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard.

Are you the next Porsche 911 GT3 RS or GT2?

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

Porsche typically keeps to a suitably fast schedule when it comes to rolling out increasingly hard-core performance versions of the 911. After the 997 Carrera debuted in 2004, the GT3 version followed in 2006, and by the end of the 2007, Porsche had rolled out both the GT3 RS and GT2 versions. Then the facelifted 997.5 came out in 2008 and it was back to the start: the GT3 came in 2009, the GT3 RS and GT2 RS in 2010, and the GT3 RS 4.0 in 2011. But things have slowed down some with the latest 991 generation.
The new Carrera came in 2011 and the GT3 followed in 2012. By recent history's example, we should have at least two more hardcore models by now, but we don't. Maybe the engineers in Zuffenhausen have had their hands full fixing the spontaneous-combustion issues with the existing GT3, or maybe their attentions have been focused elsewhere altogether. But if these spy shots are anything to go by, it seems like they're back on the job.
Now we don't know if this prototype foreshadows a new GT3 RS or a GT2, but it sure looks more hard-core than the existing GT3 that many purists have derided as too soft, what with its automatic transmission and four-wheel steering.
