I could go on about the beauty and precision of a Porsche but you already know that or you wouldn't be looking to buy this one. Instead, I will be honest and list the problems so you don't have buyers remorse and can bid with confidence of knowing what you are getting. The odometer says 99127 but stopped working about 2 years ago. I only drive the car 4-5 times a year on a sunny Sunday for about 30 miles. The car has not seen rain in over 5 years and is garage kept. The passenger window switch will roll down but not up, works fine from driver side. The fan blower squeaks and needs greased. I'm not sure if the AC works as to the fact I never drive the car when AC is needed and weather is too cold to test now. The paint is fair, still looks good but, not a show quality finish, a few small rock chips here and there and a small rust spot on back quarter panel (see pic) the other body damage is a small dent on rear fender (see pic). The original interior is in fair condition with one little thread coming up on passenger side and some surface rust on exposed metal, bolts, and screws. The gas gauge cover is starting to delaminate. The rear tail lights are faded and cracked (see pic) but working. The battery goes dead after 2-3 days so I have a quick disconnect terminal. I haven't done much to the car but change the oil never had any problems it starts right up every time, drives great and wouldn't need much to make it a pristine head turning classic! I REALLY don't want to sell this car but I need space! If you have any questions or would like to see other pics, or the car itself email me for photos or phone number. Buyer responsible for pick up or arrange for delivery, I can deliver up to 100 miles if needed.

Petrolicious details why the Porsche 911 is something special

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

The Porsche 911 is a special car, if for no other reasons than it's been continuously produced since 1964, with nearly every generation regarded as being at or near the top of its class. But why the rear-engined icon has done so well among enthusiasts and regular drivers alike can't always be explained easily. To truly understand the 911, you have to experience the whole package, and that means driving one.
While just about every publication has raved about the Porsche, commercial director, race driver, photographer and 911 owner Jeff Zwart explains to Petrolicious why he was drawn to the legend as a young child, and why he still loves them today.
Zwart's professional and personal life are inextricably linked to the 911, and hearing him talk about the car and its history makes for fascinating viewing. Watch the video below to hear Zwart's story and see him drive a couple examples from his collection: an early 911 and the 964-generation Carrera 4 he won Pikes Peak with for the first time - a car that happens to be equipped with the 959 Paris-Dakar's fascinating torque-split transmission. Enjoy!

Porsche gives Nick Murray exactly what he deserved [w/video]

Sat, 19 Apr 2014

The tale of Nick Murray and his lemon Porsche 911 appears to have come to a satisfactory end. As noted in the original story about Murray, he and Porsche Cars North America met and came to a resolution. However, we didn't know exactly what that meant, until now.
Murray has created a new video explaining that PCNA offered to buy back the car at full price or give him an exact replacement for it. This was exactly what he was asking for. Murray remains pro-Porsche in the new video. "I am definitely considering reordering a Porsche 911," he says.
Porsche also posted a message on its Facebook page that clarified the situation. "We at Porsche have always sought excellence in all that we do. We know you expect it of us. And when we don't meet that standard, we make every effort to improve," said a portion of the note.

Can a Corvette really be compared to a 911 with options costing more than the Chevy?

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

In this latest video from Drive, Chris Harris asks straight away, "Can you still compare a base Corvette to a Porsche Carerra?" That's an particularly interesting question in this film, as the 911 in question is a 400-horsepower Carrera S model that's been fitted with $60,000 in options. Base price of a Corvette Stingray? $51,995. Harris' tester features an automatic and some other goodies that push it right up to that $60,000 range. So yes, the options on the Porsche cost as much as this entire 460-hp Chevrolet.
Harris stresses that this isn't a full review, but he does exercise both cars in a more composed manner before reverting to his traditionally exuberant driving style. The impressions are, as always, spot on, with Harris favoring the pointy nature and V8 power of the Stingray, while enjoying the gearbox (Porsche's exceptional PDK transmission) and just about everything else on the 911.
Take a look below for the latest video from Drive, and let us know if you agree with Mr. Harris' views on these two sports cars.
