Porsche 912 1968 An All Original Barn Find So Cal Dry Car , Must See !! on 2040-cars

Year:1968 Mileage:139000
Location:

La Verne, California, United States

La Verne, California, United States

This is an all original late 1967, early 1968 Porsche 912 Coupe. Engine number matching to the car is #1281089, Paint code 68-6808-G and Veh ID # 12801098, compliments of the 912 Registry site. This is a ONE Owner car since he bought in 1968. It is all complete , Five gauge, Four speed I think, four cylinder model. It last ran over 10 years ago, when it was placed in storage in High Desert California. The owner stated that the engine was rebuilt few years prior before the storage of the vehicle and due to his health , he was no longer able to enjoy the Porsche. It has all five matching original Porsche alloy Fuchs wheels with correct serial numbers on all of them. I was advised the set of these wheels alone are worth over $2000. Ok, I found this Porsche just the way you see it, with dirt and dust and all, had it towed to my storage facility and that's where it remains now in as is condition with dust to prove how long it was in storage unused, plus you are welcome to speak to the original owner if you wish. As it is, one would need to replace all gas tank line rubber hoses, change the engine oil, add fresh gas and the Porsche should start and run, I hooked up the battery, sprayed an engine starting fluid in the Solexes and it started right away and ran well for a little bit, so you know the engine is alive and well. I will not do anything else to this Great original Patina beautiful car and leave it up to the next owner to enjoy, restore or whatever they may chose to do with it. Car registration is expired but no late fee's at the DMV , it has an original small square California Pink Slip still and two keys. Door locks work, window roll up and down but due to the dust and dirt , roll a bit sticky right now. Porsche will be sold in as is condition, not running but rolling and complete. I have more picture that I could not upload here so please ask if you need to see more.  The auction Will run it's course, I understand the value of these vehicles but I am very fair. The Porsche is located in the City of San Dimas California, 91750. East access for you tow company.Any questions, please ask. Thank You so much and good luck !

Watch onboard video of the Porsche 918 Spyder's record 'Ring lap

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

"Pics or it didn't happen!" You could almost hear the Internet shouting this when news started to trickle in about a sub-seven-minute Nürburgring lap by the new Porsche 918 Spyder. Well, after an official press release, which we ran earlier today, we have your "pics." Moving pics, to be more exact. Porsche has released on-board footage of the 6:57 lap.
The video, which runs about eight-and-a-half minutes, and shows the 918 from inside the car on a flying lap of the German track. Perhaps what's remarkable is just how undramatic it all looks. Sure, there's some sawing at the wheel from test driver Marc Lieb (one of three testers, including legendary rally king Walter Röhrl), but he makes wrangling the Martini-liveried 918 look kind of easy.
Take a look down below for the full, on-board video, and then click over and read our initial write-up from earlier this morning and take a glance at the more stylized video that Porsche originally posted.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4S named Motor Trend Best Driver's Car [w/video]

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Motor Trend has named the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S its best driver's car for 2013. The annual
competition for the title included some of the best performance cars that have gone on sale in the past year. The new C4S follows the 2012 Best Driver's Car award winner, a two-wheel-drive Carrera S.
Determining the winner of the coveted title isn't easy. Each vehicle is pushed through Motor Trend's normal battery of instrumented tests. Editors then spend time with each car over a 500-mile tour of mixed conditions before a final batch of testing at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, with pro racer Randy Pobst at the wheel.

2014 Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 Cup step out early

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Though Porsche won't be feeding us the full 911 enchilada until tomorrow's Geneva-based festivities, we have managed to scare up some official images of the 2014 911 GT3, as well as the all-new 911 GT3 Cup. As Porsche is celebrating 50 years of the 911, we anticipate a good day for great cars.
The new GT3 looks every bit the proper successor to the racy 911 nameplate, with a fixed rear wing large enough to serve cocktails on, a curvaceous body kit and 20-inch wheels that offer a dominating on-road stance. It's a good bet that Porsche will have coaxed something like 450 horsepower from the naturally aspirated, 3.8-liter flat-six engine that hangs over the car's rear axle. A seven-speed manual and Porsche's own PDK transmission are the likely gearbox offerings.
Should the mental quickness and imposing wingery of the standard GT3 not be enough for you, future racecar driver, Porsche is also bringing a GT3 Cup car to Geneva. The German automaker has given just a few scant details about this Cup car - 460 hp on tap, a production run of just 2,400 units - including three images of the kitted out racer. Certainly more and finer details will emerge, when Porsche shines the spotlights on its new 911s tomorrow.
