This 1970 Porsche 916-6 is one of the rarest of all Porsche Models.  Just over 3000 examples produced from 1970 – 1973.  These are excellent handling cars due to their mid-engine design.  It is an original California car, currently in Atlanta, Ga.

Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche.  Completely rebuilt 2.4E Motor with 6731 miles on the odometer and roughly 200 HP.  No expense was spared on the rebuild of this car, and all the receipts are available and included.  Includes the original 2.0 motor with correct numbers; engine is currently disassembled and stored.  The previous owner purchased it from a collector in California.  No known signs of any accident damage, and car has a clean title.
The car was placed in Porsches at Piedmont Park - the Peachstate PCA Concours event on October 6th 2013 and won its class - full “concours” scoring 223 pts. out of 235 pts. available.  Previously the car was judged and placed 2nd nationally at the Porsche Club of America Parade in Lake Placid, New York in 1994.  The car has only been driven 6731 since the restoration in 1991.  The mileage on the odometer reflects the miles since the restoration.  The car was disassembled during restoration and refinished in factory light ivory in 1990-1991 by a Porsche specialist, bringing it to a concours winning standard.  There are a few stone chips but the paint is still in great shape.  The car is in excellent condition and the interior was fitted with new factory type carpeting and Porsche floor mats during restoration.  The dash is crack free and in great condition.  Even the original steering wheel is crack free testifying to the cars superior condition.  The car has never been smoked in, and has the factory type leather 914-6 GT sport drivers seat, in addition to the original seat.  The car is equipped with euro lights/lenses, lowered with Koni shocks, Weltmeister sway bars, 15X6 Fuchs, fully rebuilt Weber carbs, sport exhaust with heat exchangers.  This car has always been covered and stored in the garage.  It has never been driven in the rain.  Included are the original owners manual in burgundy folder, jack, tool pouch and tools and documentation from 1970.  This is a rare opportunity of own an ORIGINAL 914-6 (with two engines) in excellent condition.

NHTSA closes probe into 2011 Porsche 911 coolant leaks

Thu, 13 Mar 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that it will end its investigation into rapid coolant loss in 24,635 Porsche 911s built between 2001 and 2011. The models affected included the standard 911, GT2, GT3 and Turbo, as well as their variants (GT2 RS, GT3 RS and Turbo S).
NHTSA was investigating for "rapid coolant loss caused by coolant pipe-fitting failure, allegedly resulting in vehicle disablement and/or loss of vehicle control due to reduced traction for the affected vehicle or following traffic," according to the regulators website. "Most of the leak complaints did not appear to involve complete separation of the fittings and many were detected when the vehicle was parked," said NHTSA's statement.
There were 63 complaints and 336 warranty claims, although the investigation was initiated after ten complaints from customers. There have been no reports of crashes or injuries attributed to rapid coolant loss.

2015 Porsche Panamera Exclusive Series is a seriously quick way to spend $260k

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

Porsche is usually associated with being a sports car brand, but with vehicles like the Cayenne and Panamera it takes a step into the world of luxury against firmly established players like Mercedes-Benz. One way for the company to poke its head above the high-class fray is by taking things further, and in the case of the Panamera Exclusive Series at the Los Angeles Auto Show, it means pushing grandeur to extreme levels.
Coming in at an absolutely eye-watering $263,900, plus $995 destination, the Panamera Exclusive starts its life as the already sumptuous Panamera Turbo S Executive with a 4.8-liter, twin-turbo V8 making 570 horsepower on an extended wheelbase. To help justify the extra $63,000 for the Exclusive, though, the model gets 20-inch black Sport Classic wheels and an interior in swaddled in Nappa leather with dark walnut and piano black trim. Rear passengers also get 10.1-inch touchscreens mounted on the back of the front seats. A set of fitted Poltrana Frau leather luggage is included with each one, as well.
The luxurious sedan earns it Exclusive moniker because just 100 of them are being made worldwide. Scroll down to read about Porsche's ultimate limousine.

Porsche names new motorsport chief

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

Though it may have expanded into crossovers and sedans, Porsche is still a company with racing at its heart. You might even argue that Cayenne and Panamera sales only serve to fund the company's motorsports activities. Competition-spec 911 coupes still make up a large portion of the grid in any GT racing series, and those activities are presided over by the Porsche GT division (separate from its LMP1 program), which has just announced a changing of the guard.
Porsche's GT unit - which is responsible both for racing models like the 911 RSR and road-going models like the 911 GT3 - has until now been steered by Hartmut Kristen (pictured above, left) in his capacity as Vice President of Motorsport at Porsche AG. During his ten-year tenure, Kristen gave birth to the RS Spyder that competed in the American Le Mans Series and the pioneering 911 GT3 R Hybrid. He also fostered what Porsche characterizes as "arguably the most comprehensive youth development program in motor racing" and saw the marque return to Le Mans last year with a dominant 1-2 class victory.
Kristen, now 59 years old, is leaving the German automaker, but will remain an advisor to the company's R&D department. Taking over as VP of Motorsport will be Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, who has until now been head of the 918 Spyder project (a responsibility he will continue). Walliser (pictured above, right) was previously Porsche's general manager for motorsport strategies and will now be responsible for Porsche's GT projects on and off the track, while Fritz Enzinger continues at the helm of the LMP1 program in pursuit of better results next year than the 919 Hybrid achieved at Le Mans last month.
