You are bidding on a 1973 PORSCHE 914. This car has the basic 1.7L engine however it has been rebuilt with a 1920CC big bore kit, mild performance cam, twin Weber carbs (recently professionally rebuilt) and a true exhaust header (no heater). The car is in very good-excellent condition and is a real . The engine is very strong and is actually quite a bit quicker than my friends 2.0 fuel injected car. It has had a recent new interior installed including new carpets/soundproofing, door panels and front upper dash pad and dash face material replaced. I have removed the ugly non-stock radio and the cigar lighter for an ultra clean interior look. The drivers side interior panel has a small flaw near the handgrip. Seats and pad are all in excellent condition. I have patch material for the door panel but  never got around to fixing it. The targa bar has been recovered in correct period material and all the trim polished and clear-coated. All the electrical works as it should however the brake warning light does not come on for some reason when you turn the key to the on position. Also the driver side buzzer does not work. It has a new windshield and wiper blades that function as they should. The front trunk has been detailed and has new carpeting. The gas tank has been blasted and powder-coated with the interior acid etched and epoxy sealed. It comes with five (5) correct period Fuchs wheels. The front bumper has been recently re-chromed with the bumper pads removed and all holes welded for a super clean look. The drivers mirror has been polished and has new glass and seal. The passenger side mirror is in very nice condition. The The fog lights have new lenses. The exterior paint looks fabulous however there is a small chip on the hood edge near the headlight door and a few other very minor imperfections that you have to really look hard to notice. Overall the car looks great and is a super looking head-turning daily driver. Many new rubber seals throughout. There is probably much more that I haven't even listed. Porsche 959 Prototype started it all

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

While Porsche was unveiling the new Nürburgring-dominating 918 Spyder downstairs in Hall 3 here at the Frankfurt Messe, there was another Porsche supercar quietly and discretely on display upstairs in the same hall. That, of course, was the 959. But not just any 959: this was the original Gruppe B prototype.
The 959 was first developed as a rally car in the early 80s to compete with the likes of the original Audi Sport Quattro S1, Ford RS200 and Lancia Delta S4. But Zuffenhausen soon saw its potential as a production road-going supercar, emerging as a technological marvel to challenge the decidedly linear approach of the Ferrari F40. It still stands as a groundbreaking supercar in its own right, but also lead to the first all-wheel-drive 911 Turbo and set the stage for the Carrera GT and aforementioned 918 Spyder that followed to cap the top of the evolving Porsche range.
This original Gruppe B prototype, which presaged the production 959, packed a 450-horsepower 2.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six into an even sleeker form than the final version that followed. We caught up with it on display as part of a display of 80s German classics, of which this 959 prototype immediately stood out as the pick of the proverbial litter. Porsche reveals new LMP1 racecar testing ahead of 2014 Le Mans debut

Wed, 12 Jun 2013

Getting ready for its triumphant return to the premier racing class of Le Mans, Porsche has released a handful of images showing its new LMP1 racecar testing. Porsche hasn't run a car in the Prototype class at 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2009, but this racecar - still veiled in secrecy - will be expected to battle against the Audi and Toyota LMP1 Prototypes to help bring Porsche its 17th Le Mans victory.
Aside from knowing that it will use a hybrid powertrain to meet LMP1 rules, there are no other details about the car... including its name or potential sponsors. In the meantime, Porsche has set up a microsite, called Mission 2014, to share its extensive history racing at Le Mans. Also, be sure to check out some of the past videos Porsche has released as it gears up for its reborn LMP1 program.

Porsche 911 already testing next refresh

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

The latest Porsche 911 may still be a newer car, but that hasn't stopped the German company from starting development of a facelifted version of the rear-engined sports car, testing in what looks like southern Europe.
Due to hit the market in 2015, our spies think what we're seeing here is the new GTS variant, which, following the evolution of the last-generation 911, will make its debut on the facelifted car. Featuring the wider rear haunches of the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4, the GTS should enjoy a slight power boost, to 408 ponies.
Aesthetically, there are some additional vents in the rear bodywork, along with a revised front bumper and tweaked day-time running lights. The taillights get some attention as well, and will likely grow over the current car's skinny rear lamps.
