1974 Porsche 914 Base Coupe 2-door 2.0l on 2040-cars

Year:1974 Mileage:150000
Location:

1974 Porsche 914 for sale 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine with 5 speed transmission. Purchased roughly 15 years ago to restore as a project car. Selling now due to the need of garage space for other vehicles.

Car is in black primer over the original Ravenna Green green paint. The car is in non running condition and would need a full restoration needing both mechanical and body work for it to be road worthy. The front floors, outer longitudinals are rusty and need repair.

The original fuel injection had been replaced by Dell'Orto carburetors in addition to having 911 5 lug wheel hubs conversion with Fuchs style alloys. The car has bilsteins front and rear with front and rear swaybars. The majority of components are still present but I do not know the exact details for every one. Would make for a good Autocross A/X car but still quite capable of being put back to a working order for a classic 914.

This is a low owner car (three owners to date) which was originally sold by Jack Daniel's Porsche in Fairlawn NJ. I have a box full of documentation and Extensive service records for the car dating back into the 1970s are still with the car including original Dealer Bill of Sale and Dealer service Book.

I also have a brand new 1.7 914 motor with D-Jet which was just rebuilt for an additional fee of $1500.

Clear Title in hand.

Porsche gives Nick Murray exactly what he deserved [w/video]

Sat, 19 Apr 2014

The tale of Nick Murray and his lemon Porsche 911 appears to have come to a satisfactory end. As noted in the original story about Murray, he and Porsche Cars North America met and came to a resolution. However, we didn't know exactly what that meant, until now.
Murray has created a new video explaining that PCNA offered to buy back the car at full price or give him an exact replacement for it. This was exactly what he was asking for. Murray remains pro-Porsche in the new video. "I am definitely considering reordering a Porsche 911," he says.
Porsche also posted a message on its Facebook page that clarified the situation. "We at Porsche have always sought excellence in all that we do. We know you expect it of us. And when we don't meet that standard, we make every effort to improve," said a portion of the note.

The 2014 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S brings 50 extra ponies to Detroit

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

Porsche has announced a new version of its popular SUV today at the Detroit Auto Show: the 550-horsepower 2014 Cayenne Turbo S.
This newly minted "flagship" of the Cayenne lineup is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 engine, and offers 50 hp more than the Cayenne Turbo. Performance figures are impressive for the sleek utility vehicle: 0-60 miles per hour can be dashed off in 4.3 seconds, while maximum speed is rated at 175 mph. The Turbo S also gets dynamic chassis control, torque vectoring and Porsche's Sport Chrono package - all standard equipment.
Visually the Cayenne Turbo S differentiates itself from the lesser models in pretty subtle ways. Gloss black trim decorates the gawping front air intakes, as well as rear-view mirror trim panel. The SUV also wears 21-inch Turbo II wheels, a la the 911 Turbo.

Conquest and controversy conclude the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona [spoilers]

Sun, 26 Jan 2014

If you don't wish to know who won the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, you should avert your eyes right now. We'll even give you a double-space to skedaddle...
For those of you still with us, the first race in the United SportsCar Championship (USCC) is done, but the discussions about it certainly won't end for a while. Daytona Prototypes claimed the first four overall places, the top spot taken by the No. 5 Action Express Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi, Sebastien Bourdain and Burt Friselle. The 16th and final caution of the race bunched the field up for an eight-minute sprint to the flag, so the first place getter finished just 1.4 seconds ahead of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Max Angelelli. Third place went to Brian Friselle in the No. 9 Action Express Chevrolet Corvette DP, 20 seconds down. Chevrolet power hasn't taken the overall win since 2003, eleven years later it scores a one-two-three-four. The No. 6 Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing ORECA-Nissan 03 scored fifth place, the top LMP2 finisher.
The Prototype Challenge class win went to the No. 54 CORE Autosport team of Colin Braun, Jon Bennett, Mark Wilkins and James Gue.
