1975 Porsche 914 Base Coupe 2-door 1.8l on 2040-cars

First of all,I'll start by saying you can get in this car,start it up and take off. It's a daily driver which I had full intention of restoring but at 6 3' inches tall-I find myself pretty squeezed in there so I've come to the realization that even though I wanted one of these for over 20 years-it's not for me anymore.
The car has been through a few owners over the years and each one has done a few things to the car...including myself. It will need some parts to complete but it is safe to roll around anywhere as is. I have the carpet kit for it in the rear trunk,the front trunk is in super good condition,the glass is good,the floors are good(they have been sealed by me),the "Hell hole" is not bad but there is a rust section on the lower right rocker panel near the rear of the door. I have a new racing motor mount for it that goes with the car. It has a new battery,alternator and have been recently serviced. It's lowered slightly with Panasport wheels and Pirelli tires which still have plenty of tread on them. The stereo is all there but it is not hooked up at the moment,the odometer is not working and you will need some wiper arms and blades. They were taken and I did order some from eBay and I never received them. I have a case pending on that one. That ticked me off something fierce. The engine doesn't burn or leak oil and the transmission shifts fine and doesn't grind at all if you downshift. The rear trunk has no rust as does the front. There is a small amount of surface rust in the engine bay where the paint has come off over the years but it is nothing major. There is some bubbling on the front fender and if I was going to do it right-I'm probably think about finding a different fender instead of saving this one. I will take many more pictures tomorrow or Tuesday so that you can get a better idea of what is here. It's not bad by any means but it is not a "show car". It does however,garner attention when you drive it on the streets. You will want to acquire an antenna as well. I've been looking for a correct rubber one but no dice just yet. The rear trunk lock had been replaced and the reflective "PORSCHE" section is not there. Those are out there though and shouldn't be difficult to locate. With a little TLC and some love-this thing will be sick! Depends what you want to do. I take it out 2 times a week and get it up on the freeway and through the streets here downtown it keep everything good to go. It's basically like driving a go-cart. If it doesn't sell,I'm not even going to worry about it. I'll just keep it and figure it all out somehow. Porsche 911 GT3 named Performance Car of the Year by Road & Track
Thu, 13 Nov 2014The Porsche 911 GT3 is a very, very good performance car. Yes, we know this is like saying fire is hot and a shovel to the head hurts. What's different about this proclamation, then? Well, we bring up the 911 GT3's inherent goodness because our friends at Road & Track have named it their 2015 performance car of the year.
This is, our joking aside, a big accomplishment for the 911 GT3, due largely to the field of cars it beat out. There were many equally track-focused wonders in attendance, including the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and Dodge Viper SRT TA, as well as more capable everyday vehicles, like the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, BMW M3 and Ford Mustang GT.
But it was the 475-horsepower, rear-engined track star that R&T fell for, with editor-in-chief Larry Webster calling out the Porsche's ridiculous, howling, 9,000-rpm redline, while other editors cited its phenomenal handling character.
Porsche has doubled US sales to women [w/videos]
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Porsche is having a good sales year in the US, with 25,129 vehicles delivered year-to-date coming off the automaker's best July sales ever. That's a 31-percent increase over the same period last year (19,253 deliveries). With year-to-date Panamera sales a surprising 36 percent lower than last year, what possibly could be driving Porsche's sales surge? If you answered Cayman and Boxster sales, you're right. But dealerships are noticing another factor: more women are coming in to buy Porsches, CNBC reports, the bulk of whom picked up new Cayenne SUVs. The German automaker's sales to women in the US have more than doubled in the past two years, increasing from 7 percent to 15 percent. This has helped year-to-date Cayenne sales reach 11,082 - 31 percent higher than the same time last year.
Porsche executives have been trying to tap into the women's market, as evidenced in part by the company's move to pick professional tennis player Maria Sharapova as a brand ambassador. Porsche maintains it has not moved to dramatically change its brand image, but it has shown a number of ads in recent years that uncharacteristically emphasize its vehicles' practicality under the "Engineered for Magic. Everyday" banner - some featuring female drivers.

It seems everyone is celebrating anniversaries this year: it's Aston's hundredth, Lamborghini's fiftieth, Ford Mustang's fiftieth, Chevy Corvette's sixtieth - and Tesla just turned ten or something. It's been a little out of hand, frankly, all these forced marketing festivities, but if we had to pick one milestone to really celebrate hard and party all night, the Porsche 911 would be at the top of our list.
Get ready for a major 911 blowout bash at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show. It was on September 12 back in 1963 at this very show where Porsche unveiled its "901" painted in a rather boring shade of beige. Though drably finished, the car caused a worldwide frenzy in the budding German sports car sphere.
