The Good: To quote 924.org "The 924 Turbo, aka 931 model. Probably the most economical Porsche with the greatest performance and performance up-gradability of all the cars built in the late 70s to mid 80s."

This is a very nice 924 Turbo overall. I have owned it for 9 years. It's a white car, black leather interior. 5 speed manual, manual sunroof. She has no rust on her and is a wonderful drive. There's no other telling feature of this car that it is a Porsche than when you drive it. When the Turbo kicks in, you can't help but smile. It has nice handling too. Nice rims and all 4 tires are new. Seats were recently upholstered and carpet died as it had faded over time. It has a new radio/CD player. Ignition was re-done and now has push-start under steering wheel. Dash had some cracks but I installed a cover and it looks brand new. Undercarriage is remarkable for being 34 years old. I have the "Porsche" and "924 Turbo" decals for the back but they are not on the car. The car is currently on the road under collector's insurance.

The Bad: Previous owner disconnected speedo so mileage is unknown. It currently reads 44,000 KM (which is only 27,800 miles) but I did a basic rebuild on the engine less than 1,000 miles ago - Piston rings, Gaskets, and honed the cylinders out. The car is 34 years old so it is missing a couple of things. It needs speakers, rear window supports, rear windshield wiper motor (has worked before but it's not connected). The A/C does not work but could be as simple as a re-charge. It has a small draw of electricity somewhere so if you let it sit, the battery will die if not disconnected. Nothing major is wrong, it passes inspection.

I will not ship this car unless you cover all the costs. I'd prefer local pickup but will consider meeting somewhere with it to cut down travel time if negotiated beforehand. I accept PayPal. Message me for any questions and I will try to answer asap.

A closer look at the 2015 Porsche Macan

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

He assured us that "this is a sports car."
Porsche took the wraps off its all-new 2015 Macan at the LA Auto Show last week, and while it's easy to write it off as just a badge-engineered version of the Audi Q5, you'd be very, very wrong. For starters, 75 percent of the car's platform was re-engineered by the Porsche team, and with a choice of two twin-turbocharged engines, the Macan should absolutely live up to the brand's pedigree.

Malaise Era All-Stars

Fri, 17 May 2013

A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:

2014 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet spotted testing in the nude

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

The Porsche 911 wouldn't be the Porsche 911 unless there were twenty-something different models to choose from (note: we are not complaining), and the latest one was just spied by our trusty photographers out on Germany's Nürburgring. Feast your eyes on the 911 Turbo Cabriolet - the droptop version of the new Turbo wonder that debuted in May - looking all sorts of stealth in its black-on-black-on-black prototype scheme.
Mechanically, the 911 Turbo Cab should be identical to the fixed-roof version, meaning a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six engine will live in the car's rump, putting out something like 520 horsepower. Of course, there's also the hotter Turbo S version of the coupe, and we expect that to get the droptop treatment, as well, with 560 horsepower on tap. The added weight of the folding top and additional structural supports will likely make for slightly slower 0-60 times for both cars, though considering the base Turbo will hit 60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds, "slower" is a very relative term indeed. All that force will run to the ground via all-wheel drive, managed by Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
The wide stance of the 911 Turbo Coupe carries over to the Cabriolet, no doubt fitted with the same (standard) 20-inch wheels. Inside, the usual luxury amenities will be on hand, along with nearly endless customization options.
