This was the first year for the 928 having newer technology features such as dual airbags, digital information system, PSD (traction control) and RDK (Tire Pressure Monitoring System.) That's right, DUAL AIR BAGS and TPMS in 1990.

Outside of the car being 95% original, the only factory-like modern-day upgrades are a stainless steel bezel package, "real" carbon fiber overlay package, modern style black leather shifter, stainless steel LED "illuminated" shift plate, and better interior lighting using LED's.

NOTE: Because of the low mileage of this classic, all original important gaskets and seals were replaced including the bigger more expensive ones such as both door seals and the rear hatch seal. This "pure-bred" is now ready to transport to its new owner. To secure your place as the new owner, a deposit equal to 10% of the selling price will be required 48 hours at end of listing.

New items include: gaskets, seals, license plate illumination lamp assembly's, re-wrapped re-stitched black leather steering wheel and pod cover, raised black leather center console armrest, stainless steel interior trim package, carbon fiber overlay kit, tires, brakes, discs, and rims.

The dual A/C (Air Conditioning) system was recently pressure tested and recharged and is fully operational both front and rear.

The glossy triple-black smoked glass look gives it a very exotic stance and makes for one of the best looking color combinations in a 928. Class and muscle combined. The quality of paint is hard to describe as it has a depth of two meters or more. A true mirror finish. You can read print fonts two meters away in the paint reflection of this "pure-bred." This is the best black paint finish I have seen in an exotic car in years dues to Porsche's quality in the application process.

When the paint was being refurbished, it was "blocked". For those familiar with this body shop term, it means that only one panel at a time is worked on until it is perfected (polished) before moving on to another and then another until the entire body is complete. This is as professional as it gets in proper paint polishing.

Along with the original black leather interior, all factory electrical and electronic features are in perfect working order. This specialty 928 makes for a great collectible for the exotic collector. Especially now that Porsche and Volkswagen will be sharing automotive assembly plants, parts and platforms.

You saw the headlineVOLKSWAGEN TO ACQUIRE PORSCHE. You know what that means? The value of this "pure-bred" just went up. 100% Porsche built and Porsche owned. No compromised platform here as will occur with newer Porsche models in the future.

SPECIAL BUYERS NOTE: This Porsche is being sold from a private collection. Not from a dealer lot or dealer inventory. This way you get to communicate directly with the owner. Not some third party who knows next to nothing about the drivability and true ownership experience. Just one more reason to acquire this black beauty, today.

Amelia Island 2013: Porsche 911 swarms the field marking 50 years of rear-engine goodness

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Perhaps one of the most iconic sports cars in the world, it was no surprise that the Porsche 911 showed up in numbers to the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Although the original 911 launched 50 years ago, the original and current models are instantly recognizable as 911s, and since the 911 has a storied racing background, there were probably just as many racing versions of the coupe as there were street-legal versions.
As the show's 2013 honoree, one of the prime racing examples was a 1970 Porsche 911 S raced by Sam Posey. There were so many cars in attendance, we didn't know where to look, but a 1985 911 Speedster concept and a Porsche-owned, rally-ready 911 Type 953 were definitely among the more impressive standouts. As an added bonus, Jacksonville-based Brumos Porsche had many of its classic racecars on display including a beautiful 959.

Porsche Macan to get four-cylinder engines

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Porsche hasn't offered a four-cylinder engine since the 968 went out of production in 1995 - the better part of two decades ago. There'd been talk of a four-pot Boxster or an even smaller model to slot in below it, but while the latest intel indicates that Porsche is moving ahead with its four-cylinder plans, it's a different kind of vehicle that will get it first.
That, of course, would be the new Macan. Just revealed a few weeks ago at the LA Auto Show, the Macan crossover is being launched with a pair of twin-turbocharged V6 engines (a 3.0 with 340 horsepower and a 3.6 with 400 hp) and a six-cylinder turbodiesel with 258 hp. But smaller engines, according to emerging reports from Autocar and Auto Express, are on their way.
Word has it that Porsche is preparing a 2.0-liter turbo four with 280 horsepower and a diesel with the same displacement and cylinder count, engines that will power new entry-level Macan models that will slot in beneath the existing Macan S, Macan S Diesel and Macan Turbo. While the diesel is tipped to be ported over from the Volkswagen parts bin, the four-cylinder gasoline engine is said to be under development by Porsche itself, which could mean it will have a boxer layout.
