This 928 S4 is a 5 sp, has the 220:1 final drive, with the LSD differential , rare and wanted option on these cars . Creates smooth, long pulling shifts. Cruse 70 mph @ 2150 rpms. All things work as they should. lights,a/c power controls est. EXCEPT FOR: 1.)Heater temp. control, it gets hot, turns off too. But not tunable, (except by fan speed, there fine and venting changes fine too). 2.) Just this month, the driver door handle stopped opening the door gradually? Found on the web where it is an adjustable bar/shaft. (turnbuckle) with a lock nut that probably unlocked, not typical for 928's not a big problem. 3.( dash cracks are typical and this one is showing cracks. We all know that the 150.00 dash caps (not the carpet covers) look good and go on easy, Did a 280 Z yrs ago and I was thrilled. The interior over all in good condtion no rubbed raw spots or tears. The exterior has miner chips, front and front of the mirrors. One weird spot on the roof, car has older second paint job, its smooth tho? and all paint is shiny. And last thing , the left rear corner looks a little bumped , never saw it till the first wash. The free vehicle history may expose something for us all. I don't drive the car hard, but I do enjoy wide mountain freeway driving with this car. AFTER MARKET : steering wheel is Porsche, but not 928. I remember the price(630.00) but think its from the 911 line . The rims are nice, left rear very lite rash spot. fronts: 18x9 ,rear are 18x10 inch. tire size 11''wide rears 295/30 zr 18's. front 9.'' wide , 225/40zr 18's . Exhaust, stock except for the new X pipe( 30 hp) and pair of s.s. cats, making a low V8 rumble. good alpine single cd player. calls, ok , any time , Im hard to reach but will surely call you back, I work 12 hr shifts and turn the ringer off till I get up. thank you , bill / 541-680-0053

Father-son team grows close by building tuned Porsche
Mon, 21 Jul 2014We've seen several heartwarming videos of kids bonding over cars with their parents, whether racing together or giving them as gifts. The story of Leh Keen and his father McGrath, though, is somewhat different. Not many dads are looking for a vehicle quite this mental.
As Leh tells it, his dad saw a video online of one of the wild Porsches from Japanese tuner Rauh-Welt Begriff and decided that he needed one of the creations in his own garage. Since Leh knows something about cars himself as a driver for Alex Job Racing in the United SportsCar Championship, McGrath put his son in charge of managing the build from the company.
When the car made it to the US for completion from Rauh's famed builder Nakai, father and son bonded over the red, widebody 993-platform 911. The final product is certainly eye-catching. Scroll down to watch the video that features not only an engrossing father-son tale but also a seriously wicked, tuned Porsche from one of Japan's finest.
Porsche recalls new 911 models over exhaust pipe issues
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Porsche, though the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, announced a voluntary recall on about 2,200 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 models built during the 2012 and 2013 model years. On cars equipped with the standard exhaust system it was found that the tailpipes could separate from the mufflers and become dangerous road debris; models that added the optional sport exhaust system are not included in this recall.
Affected vehicles were built between March and November of last year, but there have been no reports of the problem on any customer-owned vehicles. Porsche first noticed a cracked tailpipe weld on a test vehicle back in May, and since then has found similar problems on other internally owned vehicles, all with more than 25,000 miles on the clock. To fix the problem, dealers will be replacing the mufflers. Scroll down to read the official notice.
Son of Porsche 911 designer recalls 1963 Frankfurt debut
Wed, 16 Oct 2013
The Goodwood Revival is described by its presenters as the greatest motorsport racing party of the year. We often focus heavily on the motorsports, but you can't forget about the party. For the first preview of the new 911 Turbo in the UK, Porsche recreated its booth from the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963 - the time and place of the original 911's public debut.
Porsche's cameras also caught up with Mark Porsche, the great grandson of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and son of the late Ferdinand Alexander "Butzi" Porsche, who oversaw the design of the 911. Mark Porsche admires the 911's friendly design, which is set off by the round headlights, and says his mother, who was at the original Frankfurt booth in 1963, was milling around the booth at Goodwood - no doubt taking a trip down memory lane.
