Up for auction is my low mileage 928 S4, purchased over a year ago from a 27year owner of the car in Arizona. The car is in wonderful condition forit's age and drives beautifully. I drive the car on my days off, never inthe rain and have put on approximately 1400 miles since owning it. Here are thehighlights of it's condition: Exterior: Paint/clear coat is nice and glossywith only two small dings on the roof, aft of the sunroof, barely visible. Twosmall scratches on the front bumper below the hood and a few around the doorlocks. Doors, hood, rear hatch close tightly. Side window weather strippings areworn. Window tint is aged. Wheels are BBS 18" with Yokahama Neova tires, datecode - 2015. Front - 225/45ZR18, 75% tread. Rear - 265/35ZR18, 70%tread.Interior: The interior is in good condition with the usual exception ofcracks on the dash and the instrument pod. The shift knob is aftermarket as wellas the Momo steering wheel. An aftermarket stereo is installed and the stockspeakers are operational, but with little bass. New Lloyd mats in front andcargo compartment. Original spare tire and tool kit (minus the pliers). AllGauges, switches, and knobs are operational. The power seats function correctlyand the leather seats are good condition for their age with some cracking in thedrivers seat. Drivetrain: The Engine runs smooth with plenty of power and burnsno oil. No warning messages, all gauges read normally. The transmission operatessmoothly through all the gears. One or two drips from the transmission pangasket right after engine shutdown. No static leaks.Suspension and Brakes:Rotors and pads have plenty of wear remaining and the suspension is solid, nowanderingA/C: R-134 conversion , runs coldExhaust: Stock except for stainlessmuffler bypass.

Porsche testing new 911 GTS

Wed, 28 May 2014

Porsche may have one more vehicle in its stable with the GTS moniker, if these spy shots are any indication. They show off the presumed 911 GTS lapping the track - the model meant to slide in under the GT3 to be a bit more driver-friendly but still very fast alternative to a stock Carrera.
At first glance, it might look like any other 911, but the devil is in the details. The most obvious among the differences are two centrally mounted exhaust outlets, rather than the ones closer to the corners on most of the current models. They also aren't perfectly in the center like the GT3. The taillights are also somewhat thicker than the current ones, and the rear decklid is split into three exposed sections.
This is the third time we've seen the presumed GTS. The first was as a coupe late last year. Then it showed up again in March testing in convertible form. Although, that version also sported fender vents at the rear.

Driving the million-mile Porsche 356

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

Maybe you've seen or heard about the Porsche 356 with almost one-million miles (though it doesn't look like it), but Petrolicious finally has produced a video to show us what it's like to drive the 982,000-mile car. Guy Newmark's beautiful, dark-blue 1964 356C looks great in motion - much better than in photos - and serves to remind us not only what meticulous car care can do for old classics, but that old Porsches were built to last.
So how fastidious is Newmark about maintaining it? He takes the car to his mechanic of 40 years every 3,000 miles for an oil change and to fix anything that needs attention.
Newmark says his 356 "is everything you could want," and that he finds errands to do just to go drive it. We would, too. The next-best thing is to watch the inspiring video below of the well-traveled Porsche.

Porsche suspends 911 GT3 deliveries amidst fears of spontaneous combustion

Mon, 17 Feb 2014

Seeing pictures of Italian supercars burst into flames by the side of the road, as our compatriots at Axis of Oversteer point out, has become something of a usual sight. But a Porsche? Surely those meticulous German engineers have got that taken care of, right?
Not necessarily. Reports coming in from Europe indicate that no fewer than five 911 GT3 coupes have "spontaneously combusted" in the past few weeks, prompting Porsche to launch an investigation. In the meantime, they've reportedly ceased deliveries of the new GT3 while they try to determine what the problem is and work to rectify it.
We wouldn't be surprised to see a recall issued once the problem is resolved, but for now, we'd encourage existing owners to be extra vigilant behind the wheel - or better yet, leave their cars in the garage for the time being. You wouldn't want to drive a 475-horsepower rear-drive sports car through a Polar Vortex, anyway, right?
