Gorgeously Restored, Inside And Out, Hard To Find, Classic Porsche 930 Turbo on 2040-cars

I tried my best to keep it all original stock, but a few items had to be updated and replaced. This includes, but not limited to, incredibly comfortable wrap-around leather seats from a newer 911, new Brimbo brakes, all around, that will throw you thru the windsheild, radio and speakers, clutch, and front windshield. Items that were inspected while the car was stripped were replaced, such as all the weather stripping, carpet, fuses and fuse box, and headlights. Gone is the antennae, headlight washers, and rear wiper. The transmission was rebuilt while I had it out for the complete re-paint, and the engine had work on it 10k or so miles ago. Very, very fast. Very, very reliable. Could be a daily driver. I take it out on the back roads every 2 weeks or so. Drives like it's on rails. She's a beast. I had the rear spoiler changed to the 3.8 RS version. Why? Because I wanted to; it fits tight and is proportionally perfect. The original whale tale spoiler will, of course, come with the car, minus the rubber gasket, and is being painted the same yellow as we speak if you choose to swap out. I chose 'Ferrari Fly Yellow' because it's a deep yellow that really jumps out. Almost a mirror finish. It is not subtle. I'm having a few chips on the front repaired. You will also receive the remaining unused paint for touch ups. It is flawless, but unfortunately, not all original stock. Never wrecked, never tracked, and never seen rain or snow. I do keep all my records. I am the 3rd owner. Don't hesitate to ask questions. If they're too technical for me, I'll ask my mechanic. This was his 24th Porsche 911 rebuild, and currently a race instructor, and races on many weekends. Very capable crew with him, too. Non-refundable Paypal down payment of $5k is due within 5 business days. The remainder due can fit your time schedule, within reason, up to 60 days or so. I'm retiring in 5 years, so I'm in no hurry to part ways. Porsche Macan configurator lets you build $110k crossover
Mon, 25 Nov 2013Part of the idea behind the new Porsche Macan is that it's less expensive than its larger sibling, the Cayenne. But with a starting MSRP of $49,900, the base Macan S is actually $300 more expensive than the cheapest Cayenne. That, however, is just the start, as you can see from the online configurator.
As is often the case with German cars in general (Porsches especially), tick the right boxes and you'll soon be leaving that base price behind in a cloud of tire smoke. Start off with the Macan Turbo and you're looking at a base MSRP of $72,300, which is already over twenty grand more than the naturally-aspirated version. But even that soon escalates as the options pile on.
Aurum Metallic paint will set you back $3,120. 21-inch wheels, another $3,300. You'll probably want the air suspension, torque vectoring, the Sport Chrono package, adaptive cruise control and lane-change systems, and those each add over a grand to the price. A Burmester surround sound system is the single most expensive option at $4,290. And if you choose them all - and choose all the optional trim packages - you'll soon be looking at a price in excess of $110,000. That's enough to get you into a Cayenne Turbo... assuming you don't tag on all the options to that one, too.
Amelia Island 2013: Porsche 911 swarms the field marking 50 years of rear-engine goodness
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Perhaps one of the most iconic sports cars in the world, it was no surprise that the Porsche 911 showed up in numbers to the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Although the original 911 launched 50 years ago, the original and current models are instantly recognizable as 911s, and since the 911 has a storied racing background, there were probably just as many racing versions of the coupe as there were street-legal versions.
As the show's 2013 honoree, one of the prime racing examples was a 1970 Porsche 911 S raced by Sam Posey. There were so many cars in attendance, we didn't know where to look, but a 1985 911 Speedster concept and a Porsche-owned, rally-ready 911 Type 953 were definitely among the more impressive standouts. As an added bonus, Jacksonville-based Brumos Porsche had many of its classic racecars on display including a beautiful 959.
Leno, Seinfeld and a Porsche 356/2 featured in latest CICGC

The NBC funnyman we've lately seen driving two guest Porsches in his eponymous garage this time takes the passenger seat in a 1949 Porsche 356/2, one of early all-aluminum, hand-built coupes - still in 100-percent original condition - built in Gmund, Austria and nicknamed "Gmunds."
The comedy veterans have known one another for 35 years, so the episode is rich with stories of The Good Old Days. Leno says it is also the first time he's ever had a cup of coffee, and for obvious comedic reasons they start with the civet-stained beans made famous in The Bucket List.
