Imported from England,. So the steering wheel is on the right side of the car which makes it unique and very fun to drive. They have a yearly mechanical and safety inspection called the MOT in England so it has been taken care of its entire life and only has been in the States since June of 14. Runs great and has four new tires. It is all original except the radio. The sunroof works and I still have to original case for the roof when it is removed. I have owned it for about 2 years and have had no issues with it and am only selling it because I am moving overseas. The interior is in good condition. Only showing wear on the steering wheel and shift knob. The seats are in excellent condition, they look brand new. The exterior looks great, I am a car detailing tech so the paint feels as smooth as glass. The DMV has approved the foreign import registration and the plates and title are in the mail. They said three weeks and that was on the 12th of Sep14. Porsche digitally dissects its 918 Spyder for your viewing pleasure
Wed, 02 Oct 2013At this point, you'd think we'd know all there is to know about the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder - except what it's like to drive - but Porsche has released a new video giving us a more in-depth look at its new plug-in hypercar all the same. The animated video gives us numerous cutaway looks at the 918 Spyder while giving a visual demonstration of the car's four hybrid driving modes.
Though nowhere near as exciting as watching the 918 blast around the Nürburgring in record time, this new video is nonetheless both interesting and informative. Meet the main man behind the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3
Fri, 30 Aug 2013We have yet to catch our breath from our first drive of the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3, but if you're still not sold on the fact that this track-ready 911 is only offered with a PDK transmission, then you should take it up with Andreas Preuninger. Preuninger is the guy who led the team responsible for the latest GT3. Porsche has released a video giving a little backstory of what went into the development of the car, which had as its goal the creation of a pure, rewarding 911 driving experience.
The video captures the sights and sounds of the GT3 perfectly. Perhaps the best part is listening to Preuninger describe one of the defining moments that resulted in replacing the GT3's manual gearbox with the PDK. Preparing for Le Mans 2014 Porsche remembers 1971 and the 917 [w/video]
Sun, 07 Apr 2013Porsche has given us another look back at its successes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This time it's 1971, the year that its 917 set records that haven't all been eclipsed. It's 45-kilogram magnesium tube frame was the lightest, Jackie Oliver set the fastest in-race lap with a time that still stands, and winning drivers Helmut Marko - the same Helmut Marko currently with Infiniti Red Bull Racing - and Gilles Lethem did so many laps that their distance wasn't exceeded until the Audi R15 TDI did it in 2010.
1971 was also the year of the "Pink Pig." With bodywork created by a French aerodynamics firm, the wider, rounder 917 earned the porcine moniker so Porsche painted it pink and labeled it with the cuts you'd get from a pig. Sponsor Martini was so miffed they demanded all Martini branding be removed. No one can remove the thousands of photographs taken of the car ever since. Enjoy that and more in the video below.
