1986 Porsche 944 Turbo

Black on Tan 96,000 mile Turbo. I have had a few 944 Turbo's over the last 20 years, they are fun cars. I purchased this car last year and have had my fun again. I stumbled across the car locally and the previous owner had it since 06. The car has had one repaint. It was always a black car. The paint is very nice, (professional quality). I would guess it to be 15 ish year old paint. It fits the car perfectly. The interior is all original. Shows very nice. Still smells like a Porsche. I have a good understanding of cars and was not in search of a 944 Turbo at the time. When I looked at the car, I had to have it because it is just a nice well cared for honest example of this model year. Unmolested - never abused. All panels line up nicely. Water pump and belt was done within the last 5k. I have parts paperwork from last owner. The car has zero excuses. It always starts. Pulls Hard. Drives strait. For the money I am looking for I know I should just keep it. Car has the few typical 944 issues. Like sunroof opens sometimes doesnt close. AC is not ICY. No other mechanical issues that I have encountered. This surely is a nice example and is better than cash in any bank. As with all of my auctions I stress that you call me personally to discuss the car. My number is 603.674.5572. I am a serious collector and wish to ensure a positive transaction. Emails with 10 questions are not encouraged. Call Me !!!!! Please make absolute sure that you wish to follow through and are actually planning on buying this car if you bid.

Porsche 918 Spyder could lap the 'Ring even quicker [w/video]

Mon, 16 Sep 2013

Porsche had a lot to crow about at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. Not only did it debut the new 50 Years edition and Turbo versions of the 911 and the new hybrid and diesel versions of the Panamera, but while unveiling the final production version of the new 918 Spyder, it revealed the record lap it set around the Nürburgring.
The 918 Spyder's 6:57 lap time makes it the fastest street-legal production car ever to lap the Nordschleife and the first to break the seven-minute barrier. But the driver who clocked the time thinks it can go even faster.
That driver was Marc Lieb, who has won the Nürburgring 24-hour race four times, making him something of an expert on the subject. In speaking with Australia's Drive TV, Lieb suggested that they could get even more out of the car, as you can hear for yourself in the video below.

Drive-up bank robbery perpetrated with Cayenne and WRX

Sat, 14 Sep 2013

Thieves carried out what appears to be a movie-script-perfect robbery of a bank in Sydney, Australia early on Friday morning, using two stolen high-performance vehicles in the process.
At around 11:15 AM local time, in near mid-day light, reports say that two men in masks smashed into the side of a Westpac bank in a confirmed-stolen black Porsche Cayenne. The perpetrators were armed with sledgehammers according to witness reports, and took only about five minutes to take what they were after inside of the bank.
The rapid getaway was executed in a Subaru WRX, also confirmed as a stolen vehicle, while witnesses snapped camera phone images of the illicit goings on. One Twitter user posted a few of the images to his social media feed; you can take a look at them in our small gallery below. Follow on down for the full video report, from The Sydney Morning Herald.

Remembering Porsche's illustrious Le Mans history

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

Not only does this weekend mark the running of the 82nd 24 Hours of Le Mans, it will also see the return of one of the race's most venerable brands to the top tiers of endurance racing. Porsche will campaign its first top-flight car since the 1998 911 GT1-98, the 919 Hybrid, at this weekend's race, in the hopes of knocking off its corporate rival, the dominant Audi team.
To understand just what a win for the 919 would mean, though, you need to look back on the intrinsic connection between the Circuit de la Sarthe and Porsche. It's a history that spans decades, dating back to the team's first win in 1970.
XCar has a great video on that history. At 25 minutes, it's a bit on the long side. Then again it is the Friday before Le Mans. Take a look below for the video.
