Harrison, New Jersey, United States
PORSCHE 944 1986 96k Base Model
I owned this card since 08-2012 and I always loved the 944's, I made several repairs on this car because I wanted to keep this car forever... but things changed, I am getting married and I will move on January so I have to let go. This car has a *rebuilt engine* and it runs strong. No accidents. I bought this car with 93 988 Miles on it and now it has 96 715 Miles, I mostly used it on weekends I invested a lot on this car and is running really strong with no mechanical problems. *I am using this car everyday for now because I already sold my daily car* This is what I replaced during this short time: New Water Pump New Thermostat New Timing Belt New Balance Shaft Belt New Balance Shaft Belt Tensioner Replaced Timing Belt Tensioner (used) New Power Steering Pump Reservoir New P/S Suction Hose Replaced P/S Pump Belt Tensioner (used) New Front Break Rotors New Front Break Pads Repaired Broken Wire Front Break Pads New Break Pads Sensors New Engine Mount Turbo Style Replaced Air Flow Meter (used) New Water Temp Sensor Replaced Sunroof Seal Replaced Hatch Seal Replaced Sunvisor Bracket New Set of Tires (Kelly Charge 94H 215/60R15) Four Wheel Alignment New Shift Knob and Boot (Aftermarket - Germany) Everything on this car was checked before it was given to me. The bad things about this car are mostly cosmetic ones, it has some dents, paint still good but overall it looks really nice. The passenger door only opens from the inside. Interior also has some regular use and it has 2 buttons on the dashboard that are out of place. The dashboard has a few little cracks. Feel free to come and see the car. Cash only. Serious buyers please. I have all *documents* of the repairs and more pictures. I serviced my car on RR ROCS, they specialized on PORSCHES (specially 944's and other classic ones) You can contact me at 201-889-0001 or email at willypalomino@hotmail.com me for more information. |

Porsche 911 RSR in bizarre, terrifying rally crash
Sun, 22 Sep 2013As far as rally crashes go, this one is pretty terrifying. At this month's Hellendoorn Rally, Harry Kleinjan failed to negotiate a turn and drove his Porsche 911 RSR straight into a Jersey barrier, flipping the car into the river.
While it's unclear what caused the accident, German Car Scene notes, "We can see his brakes locking up ahead of the impact, which also ripped both driver's side wheels off, so it may be a case of ill-judged late braking, locking brakes or a jammed throttle." Us? We're betting it might have been bad pace notes. Fortunately for Harry and his co-driver, all indications are that no one was hurt. Check out the videos below to see the spectacular crash for yourself.
Porsche close to fix for 911 GT3 engine fires
Sun, 16 Mar 2014It looks like 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 drivers might actually get to drive their cars again soon. Reports of fires affecting the track-ready Germans first began about a month ago. Then, a few days later, the automaker confirmed two of the five alleged blazes and said owners shouldn't drive their cars until further notice. Porsche then went so far as to offer to pick up the GT3s and transport them to the nearest dealer until the problem was identified and a fix was found. Finally, there appears to be a repair.
"We know the reason and the problem-solving measures. We're testing them," said Porsche CEO Matthias Müller to Bloomberg. The technical fix will be released to owners shortly.
The recall affects all 785 GT3s that have been sold so far, but there have been no reported injuries caused by the fires. When it first announced the safety campaign, Porsche said: "Internal studies to determine the cause of the engine damage have not been completed yet."
Porsche undecided on new 911 GT2 [w/poll]
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Fans of hardcore 911s had it pretty good with the last 997 generation. There was the GT3, GT3 RS, GT3 RS 4.0, GT2 and GT2 RS (pictured above). Each one was faster, more powerful and more expensive than the one below it, but what they all shared was what Porsche purists love most: rear engine, rear drive, a manual transmission and little else.
So far with the new 991, Porsche has only released a GT3 version. Sure, there have been other models, but they're all decidedly more luxurious and less performance-focused. And as impressive a machine as the new GT3 is, it has run the risk of alienating some of its most ardent fanatics with technological interference in the form of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and four-wheel steering. So what those purists have really been looking forward to is a more hardcore GT3 RS or new GT2. But those may not be coming so quickly.
Speaking with 911 project chief August Achleitner, Car and Driver reports that a new GT2 is anything but a foregone conclusion. The reasons may be partially political, but could be technical in nature as well: with 560 horsepower driving all four wheels, the new 911 Turbo S runs the 0-60 in less than three seconds. Give it more power but less traction, as Porsche has done with past GT2s, and you may not end up seeing an actual improvement in performance. A GT2 that's slower than the Turbo S would be difficult to explain.
