You are bidding on a very nice 2001 Porsche Boxster S.  It is Artic silver with a Boxster Red interior and a Boxster Red top. (There are rumors that this color combination is a full 10 MPH faster than any of the other color combinations)*  The top is a brand new later model German top with the heated Glass window rather than the plastic unheated window that usually goes bad before the top does.  The exterior of this car is in near perfect condition, with no dents, nicks or scratches anywhere.  No parking lot dings in the doors or rock chips on the front.  It is almost as it left the show room!  The interior is the same, with the exception of some color fade of the red carpet covering on the back self under the rear window from the sun.  The carpet on the floor and the door panels are in near new condition as are the full leather seats and the dash.  I have included a number of good pictures to try and show the overall great condition of the car inside and out.  The important to Porsche Boxster's, are these recent new parts, done just 6,700 miles ago.  The clutch and pressure plate along with a new rear crank seal and a rebuilt clutch slave cylinder.  Done Just 500 miles ago were all new brake rotor's and new brake pad's, with the caliper's repainted bright red and new Porsche decals replaced.  The 18" wheels are in very nice condition and the Z rated Michelin Pilot sports have about 70% of their tread left.  The windshield was just replaced when the new top was put on, about 500 miles ago also.  It was replaced because of a small chip on the passenger side.  The door window's are in perfect condition along with both mirror's.  The Radio has been replaced with a modern 7 1/2" display AM/FM, CD/DVD player, GPS,  Rear Vision, Regular TV reception, if you add a TV antenna, which I have not done.  Full Bluetooth for hands free phone call's and Pandora radio along with a hard wired jack for ipod, ipad, or iphone.  Very nice!   This Boxster S also has 4-way power seats, power mirrors, cruise control, adjustable steering wheel, power windows, alarm system, anti-lock brakes, power steering, full climate control for heating and air-conditioning, both of which work great and of course a power top which is very easy to put up and down and works perfect.  The Engine and the 6-speed manual transmission are both in good working condition.  The engine compartment is in very clean condition with no oil leaks and the engine runs and drives as it should!  the transmission shifts very nice and smooth with great syncro's!  Driving a Boxster S is great fun as the handling is so suprisingly a great experience.  Most people have no idea how well they drive and handle.  Please call me with any questions.  My best number any time is 949-458-5810   I have set the reserve low and the car will sell, so bid often and bid to win it, you will not be disappointed.

McLaren boss' exclusive Porsche 935 Street is worth three 911 Turbos

Wed, 21 May 2014

McLarens may be exclusive, but there are still hundreds - if not thousands - of people out there who can say they own one. Mansour Ojjeh is one of them, but he doesn't just own a McLaren - he owns McLaren. As in, the company that makes the racing and exotic supercars. Or 25 percent of it, anyway. As the head of Techniques d'Avant Garde, Ojjeh is one of the British outfit's largest shareholders, previously having owned Heuer watches (before selling it to luxury giant LVMH) and engineered Porsche's most successful foray into Formula One - winning the world drivers' championship three times in a row and the constructors' title twice with Alain Prost and Niki Lauda behind the wheel of McLarens with Porsche engines developed and branded by TAG.
In short, he probably could get any McLaren he wanted at the drop of a hat, but also had strong ties to Porsche in the 80s, and this is the car he wanted. It's called the Porsche 935 Street, and it's the only one ever made. Inspired by the 935 racer that won Le Mans and over 120 other races, Ojjeh contracted Porsche Exclusive when it was still in its infancy to make him one for the road. So they took a 930 bodyshell, slotted in the 3.3-liter turbo flat-six from the 934 but cranked output up to 375 horsepower, and gave it the brakes, suspension, BBS wheels and wide-body aero from the 935 racer. They painted it a deep metallic red and trimmed the interior with cream leather and wood veneer.
When all was said and done, a total of 550 modifications were performed, detailed on a seventeen-page invoice and costing as much as three new 911 Turbos at the time. Ojjeh only put 12,000 miles on the odometer, running up and down the French Riviera, and has now put it up for sale at the upcoming Bonhams auction at Spa where it's tipped to fetch upwards of 300,000 euros - equivalent to $410k at today's rates, or, once again, the price of about three new 911 Turbos.

Porsche celebrates 50 years of 911 with some excellent pics

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

The Porsche 911 is one of the most iconic sports cars of all time, and to celebrate the car's first 50 years, Porsche has released a stunning set of photos showing how far the 911 has come from the original back in 1963 to its current 991 generation. Unlike the recent 60-year photo spread that Chevrolet put together for the Corvette, though, Porsche's gallery only shows the original 911 and the current car.
Each time the 911 is redesigned, the car's front fenders, roofline and the shape of the side windows are key focal points. Even some of the interior cues have remained the same over the years, including the positioning of the ignition key on the left of the steering column and the five-gauge instrument cluster layout.
Scroll down for Porsche's press release breaking down the seven generations of the 911, and be sure to check out our gallery with plenty of high-res pics for you to download as a desktop wallpaper. In fact, we're providing these at 1920-pixels-wide instead of our usual 1280 wide. Enjoy!

The 2013 Rolex 24-hour race at Daytona comes down to the last hour [spoilers, w/video]

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

It took 24 hours to run the race, but it was the last one was stuffed with the high action as four cars were still trying to figure out how to gain victory on the track and in the pits. Along with the obligatory crashes, spins, mechanical issues and retirements had come numerous penalties, a double-digit number of full-course yellows and two hours of fog that turned early Sunday morning into a stretch of parade laps.
The final hour would make up for the morning - drivers who might have been happy just to get on the podium had a shot at victory as the end of the race approached, and that turned into a few gambles that paid off, and at least one that didn't...
