I am the first owner of this 2008 Porsche Cayman and love this car, but my two boys are getting too big and I can't drive them both in this two-seater anymore. My car has been in a garage at work and at home and has not been driven much. I paid a lot of attention to the look and hope you can appreciate its beauty. I upgraded the rims because I wanted the tires to be flush with the body. The stock rims just didn't look good. I also upgraded the stereo because I wanted to use my phone in the car and run my iphone to listen to music and podcasts. I made sure to get a beautiful faceplate to match the interior of the car. I tinted the windows because I thought it just looked better. I maintained this car well and have all of the maintenance records. I hope to find a good home for this car. Porsche goes Platinum with special edition Cayenne
Thu, 05 Dec 2013The other day, Porsche announced a new special edition of the Cayenne. We didn't pay it much heed because it appeared to be exclusive to Europe (or, at least, markets other than ours), but now Porsche has announced its availability in North America, as well.
It's called the Platinum Edition, and it's available exclusively on the entry-level models with either the 3.6-liter V6 or 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6. You can tell the special edition apart from any other Cayenne by the silver details (accenting the grilles, window trim and rear spoiler) and its two-tone black and beige leather interior. But what makes it a compelling choice is the long list of equipment, which Porsche has identified as the most requested options and fitted them as standard, including the eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission, Power Steering Plus, Park Assist, Convenience Package and Bose audio.
Pricing starts at $63,300 for the Cayenne Platinum Edition, or $66,900 for the Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition. That represents a premium of approximately $13,000 over a bone-stock model, but actually saves you a few grand if you were going to select all those options anyway. Remembering Porsche's illustrious Le Mans history
Fri, 13 Jun 2014Not only does this weekend mark the running of the 82nd 24 Hours of Le Mans, it will also see the return of one of the race's most venerable brands to the top tiers of endurance racing. Porsche will campaign its first top-flight car since the 1998 911 GT1-98, the 919 Hybrid, at this weekend's race, in the hopes of knocking off its corporate rival, the dominant Audi team.
To understand just what a win for the 919 would mean, though, you need to look back on the intrinsic connection between the Circuit de la Sarthe and Porsche. It's a history that spans decades, dating back to the team's first win in 1970.
