Porsche 911 RSR in bizarre, terrifying rally crash

As far as rally crashes go, this one is pretty terrifying. At this month's Hellendoorn Rally, Harry Kleinjan failed to negotiate a turn and drove his Porsche 911 RSR straight into a Jersey barrier, flipping the car into the river.
While it's unclear what caused the accident, German Car Scene notes, "We can see his brakes locking up ahead of the impact, which also ripped both driver's side wheels off, so it may be a case of ill-judged late braking, locking brakes or a jammed throttle." Us? We're betting it might have been bad pace notes. Fortunately for Harry and his co-driver, all indications are that no one was hurt. Watch Porsche's 918 Spyder break a sweat while hot weather testing

With five months left until the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder enters production, Porsche engineers are still putting the hybrid sports coupe through a battery of last-minute tests. To give us new reasons to ogle over the car - as if we needed any more - Porsche has released a short video showing the 918 Spyder undergoing shakedown tests in the hot Nevada desert. And you can't drive through Nevada without visiting Vegas, too, right?
Although there's really nothing new to see in this video, it's still fun to watch as Porsche approaches one million test miles logged on this exciting new high-performance model. One interesting part (at around the 0:37 mark) shows the car taking off under electric power and then transitioning to engine power, which results in a mix of whirs and growls as the 918 Spyder switches from a 127-horsepower electric vehicle to an 887-hp hybrid supercar. Leno buys classic Porsche 356 Carrera 2, seeks out and finds perfect expert for help

The world of collector cars is fairly tight-knit when you get down to individual models. Need proof? Just take a look at this latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. The subject is a gorgeous 1963 Porsche 356 Carrera 2. Jay, being known as quite a collector, got a call from someone looking to sell. While doing his due diligence and looking for a 356 expert to go over the car with him, he came across John Willhoit.
Where the story gets weird is when Leno is asked the license plate number - it turns out that Willhoit, owner of Willhoit Restorations, had restored the exact same car more than 30 years prior. He then sold it to the same person that was looking to give it to Leno. What follows is a truly interesting video on the little quirks of the 356, along with Willhoit's personal history on a car he hadn't seen since 1976.
