eBay Find of the Day: Your choice of new, unregistered mid-2000s supercars

If you didn't quite find what you were hoping to see under the tree this year, maybe it's about time you buy yourself something nice. Something like an unregistered 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. The car has never been titled and has just 83 miles on the odometer. With one owner since new, the Carrera GT is likely to be as nice an example as you're likely to find outside of a museum. Porsche only built 340 of these machines back in 2005, and with a 610 horsepower V10 kicking at your spine, you can lap Santa's sleigh next year. Currently, the Carrera GT has a buy it now price of $457,325 with around six days left on the auction.
Not flashy enough for your tastes? Stroll on down to West Hollywood and you'll find a similarly untitled 2004 Ferrari Enzo up for grabs with a sticker of $1.8 million. Technically a Euro-spec car, the Enzo isn't legal to operate on US roads, but could be modified to satisfy Uncle Sam with a little effort. The seller calls this car the "last brand-new Enzo in existence" and with 175 miles on the clock, that may be a true statement. I knew it was a softball question, but I asked it anyway. It's pretty standard for automakers to offer up some examples of competitors when they invite the media to drive a new vehicle for the first time. If not stated outright, it's just as standard for some journalist to query about the competitive set as soon as the Q&A begins. I knew full well that Porsche believes it has a valuable new niche to itself with the 2015 Macan (and especially with the Macan Turbo), but I wanted to hear the answer to the competitor cars question anyway.
Porsche CEO Matthias Müller didn't hesitate for a second to respond. With a half-smirk appropriate to an executive that is about to launch the (very probably) most profitable and best-selling product in his brand's lineup he chuckled, "Of course, I could be arrogant and say this car has no competitors..."
Arrogant? Well, the grinning Müller certainly didn't give off a humble vibe as he proceeded to count down a list of German and British utility vehicles from various classes that are clearly behind the pace of the Macan in either looks, luxury, or sporting prowess - Range Rover Sport, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK among them.

Porsche Cayman S and Caterham 7 go head to head on the drag strip

We recently saw the standard Porsche Cayman go up against a Subaru WRX STI in a one-mile drag race with surprising results. Apparently, Evo had a similar idea of evaluating the Cayman's quickness. However, it opted for the more powerful S model and chose a flyweight Caterham Roadsport 140 as the challenger. Will the results of this battle be as close at the end of the kilometer-long (0.62-mile) drag?
Neither of these are cars you'd usually associate with drag racing, but they are nearly evenly matched. Evo selected them based on power-to-weight ratio, with the Caterham offering a scant 140 horsepower in a lithe 1,213-pound package. The Porsche is a quite svelte 2,910 pounds but has 325 hp to haul it around.
Of course, power-to-weight ratio isn't everything. There are a ton of other variables like aerodynamics and gearing that play a huge role, as well. Can the little Caterham's weight advantage overcome the better aero and additional power of the Porsche? Scroll down watch the video and find out.
