2002 Saab 9-3 Turbo
Hello and welcome to my auction! For sale is a 2002 Saab 9-3. This is the 2 door SE model, featuring a 2.0L Turbo 4 cylinder engine with an automatic transmission. Current mileage reads 123,613 and is still running strong! Mechanically sound - no check engine or warning lights of any kind. Convertible top is 100% functional, unlike many other Saabs on the market. The body is very straight and in overall great condition - only a couple minor scratches upon close inspection and top does show wear marks and could use new top. Even the engine bay is exceptionally clean for its age. Has a very comfortable black leather interior with power seats, windows, and locks. Both A/C and heat are in perfect working order. Comes with the original factory 16" alloy wheels. Tires have a fair amount of tread left. As with all used cars, I highly recommend that any potential buyers inspect this vehicle before bidding. Please be sure to thoroughly review the pictures. Sold as-is with no warranty. $200 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end. I maintain the right to end this listing at any given time, as the vehicle is for sale locally. Buyer is fully responsible for vehicle pickup and/or transport. Vehicle is for sale locally and reserves the right to end auction early Good Luck and Happy Bidding! |

NEV deal to buy Saab delayed
Fri, 03 Aug 2012Remember a month and a half ago when we told you that Saab will "soldier on?" Well, we should have written "stand at attention."
According to SaabsUnited, the deal for National Electric Vehicle Sweden to buy the remaining Saab assets didn't close on schedule. In fact, it's been delayed by "a month, perhaps more." NEVS also seems to have indicated that it's not going to be answering any more questions about the deal until it's completed.
NEVS is supposedly planning on building electric cars based on the design that would have been the next-generation 9-3. The company itself is a partnership between a Chinese energy company and a Japanese investment group.
NEVS to build new Saab models in China's Qingdao
Thu, 10 Jan 2013National Electric Vehicle Sweden has officially signed a deal with Qingdao Qingbo Investment Company that will see the NEVS build EVs in Qingdao, China. The move is the first step on the road toward eventually selling vehicles in China. Reuters reports that the Chinese company has agreed to invest $307.33 million, after which point Qingdao Qingbo will receive 22 percent of the NEVS shares. Currently, there's no word on exactly when the funds and shares will change hands, but the Swedish automaker has previously said it fully intends to launch its first EV by early 2014.
NEVS has also made waves about potentially building a version of the old Saab 9-3 with a traditional internal combustion driveline. Currently, the manufacturer says it plans to ship the vehicles it builds in Sweden to the Qingdao port and distribute them to the rest of China from there. Later down the line, a manufacturing facility in Qingdao will supply the country with Chinese-built Saab models.
Mahindra eying stake in Saab owner NEVS?
Tue, 17 Jun 2014It's ironic that Saab's current vehicle architecture is called the Phoenix platform, because like the mythological bird, the company keeps returning from the ashes. That's right, the embattled Swedish automaker isn't completely dead yet. Again. Actually, it may be facing yet another buyout, and this time, the buyer may be from India.
Less than a month ago, the situation looked ominous for Saab. National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the carmaker's current owner, temporarily shut down 9-3 production at its Trollhättan factory not long after restarting it in the first place. According to Just Auto, it laid off about 100 consultants allegedly linked to problems making June payroll, as well. At the time, Saab claimed that the measures were temporary, and it was negotiating selling part ownership to another automaker.
Those assertions might have some truth behind them, it seems. Indian newspaper The Economic Times reports that Mahindra & Mahindra and an unnamed Asian automaker are negotiating with NEVS to purchase part of the company. It claims that the Indian automaker sees Saab as an opportunity to add a premium brand to its business.
