2002 Saab 9-3 Se Needs Work on 2040-cars
San Diego, California, United States
2002 Saab 9-3 SE with only 142K miles on it. It's a great car and a lot of fun to drive! Our family purchased the car several years ago from Mike Shaw, a Saab dealership in Colorado. It moved with a family member to SD for the last few years who is now moving back and not taking the car with. All of the maintenance and repairs in Colorado were performed by EOS motorsports and all of the work done in SD has been performed by Swedish Auto Tech. Both of which are highly regarded Saab repair shops. We recently had the car inspected by Swedish Auto Tech and it does need work as outlined below. Our family has loved this Saab as much as all of the others we've owned and we hope to find it a good home with another Saab enthusiast in SD!
Interior: - Smoker free! - Power windows - Power locks - Heated, power, leather seats with "turbo" logo - Cruise Control - Moonroof - Wood trim - AC died and was removed - Back left window doesn't roll down and the door doesn't open from the inside - Minor wear and tear and one or two small stains - Above average condition for the mileage!!! Engine/Trans/suspension: - Transmission is in good condition - Turbo boosts great - B204R "High Output Turbo" Engine - Motor is leaking oil from multiple seals and needs to be replaced or rebuilt. At the moment we've just been monitoring the oil level and adding oil when needed. - Needs alignment - Mechanics have recommended replacing front ball joints eventually - Slight exhaust leak (I believe it's patchable) - Rear shocks leaking - Power steering hose should be replaced - Includes a few misc. spare parts Exterior: - Silver - Gorgeous SE model body kit gets compliments all the time! - Scuffs on the back right door/fender and the back bumper * We have our fingers crossed this car ends up with another Saab enthusiast! It's in great shape for the mileage and doesn't deserve to get parted out!!! * ** The car will be available for inspection on Saturday July 22nd from 10-1 at the west end of the Fashion Valley parking lot, next to the trolley station.** ***Cash only. Car must be picked up locally in SD between the 29th and the 31st. It has Colorado tags and will need to be registered at the CA DMV.*** |

NEV deal to buy Saab delayed
Fri, 03 Aug 2012Remember a month and a half ago when we told you that Saab will "soldier on?" Well, we should have written "stand at attention."
According to SaabsUnited, the deal for National Electric Vehicle Sweden to buy the remaining Saab assets didn't close on schedule. In fact, it's been delayed by "a month, perhaps more." NEVS also seems to have indicated that it's not going to be answering any more questions about the deal until it's completed.
NEVS is supposedly planning on building electric cars based on the design that would have been the next-generation 9-3. The company itself is a partnership between a Chinese energy company and a Japanese investment group.
Saab US bankruptcy plan gets legal green-light
Thu, 18 Jul 2013It feels utterly bizarre that we're still talking about Saab, but Reuters is reporting that the bankrupt Swedish manufacturer's American arm has gotten approval from the US Bankruptcy Court to liquidate its assets and pay back creditors. As part of the plan, secured creditors like Ally Financial will receive full repayment. Unsecured creditors, consisting of those affected by abandoned leases and contracts will get anywhere from 25 to 82 percent of their money back.
There are currently $77 million in unsecured claims, according to Reuters, but that number doesn't include claims from former Saab dealers. Naturally, the entire affair is full of lawyers and legalese. A trust formed on the Saab side will be negotiating with creditors and their affiliates in an attempt to reduce claims against Saab. This sounds like the start of a long and sordid affair...
3 former Saab execs charged with tax evasion
Mon, 20 May 2013The Associated Press reports three former Saab executives have been arrested on charges of accounting fraud. Swedish prosecutor Olof Sahlgren has refused to identify the individuals, but says they're suspected of attempting to evade taxes by falsifying Saab accounts between 2010 and 2011 during the Spyker years. Other reports indicate the parties involved include former General Counsel to Saab Kristina Geers (seen to the left of former CEO Victor Muller, above), a 15-year-veteran of the company - her husband, Eric, was the company's communications director for 9 years as well.
Saab filed for bankruptcy in 2011, and was purchased shortly thereafter by National Electric Vehicle Sweden. If convicted, the trio could face up to four years in prison for their crimes under Swedish law.
