This is a pretty good running SAAB . I was using it as a daily driver , but I quickly realized I needed a pickup for construction side work. I bought this car on EBAY from a gentleman that said it needed a starter, and he had no idea why it was a flood vehicle. I quickly realized it wouldn't start because the engine was full of antifreeze and the pistons were in pieces. ( interference engine )
I put a used engine with 75,000 miles on it, new timing belt, new stainless exhaust, head gasket, and new brakes. I also put a new blend motor on the HVAC system. Recent tune up. This car got me about 28-30 mpg average. The engine is a turbo and it has some get up and go.
The interior is in Ok condition, the previous owners dog chewed up the storage bin cover. ($50 on ebay) No rust , a few scratches , and a few parking lot dents. The sunroof is a great feature and works great. The transmission shifts good, synthetic fluid. I have all receipts. I will sell this car with the timing tool ( $94) if it gets over $1500. The ac worked last summer. The LED on the radio needs replacing , a common SAAB issue.
If you are looking for a cheap car that is not some ugly brown taurus , looks good going down the road ( with a little pep) this is a good one for you .
Car comes AS-IS with no warranty . I have described everything that I know is wrong with it. I have receipts for the engine, exhaust, brakes etc.
I just changed a camshaft gasket to sell. I do not have it registered , and I haven't been able to drive it long distances. If you buy it from far away, I would trailer it home just in case.

GM recalls 500K Chevy Camaros for ignition-switch defect
Fri, 13 Jun 2014General Motors issued a recall for more than a half million Chevrolet Camaros on Friday morning because of an ignition-switch safety hazard that mirrors the one at the center of the company's current crisis.
The problem affects Camaro models from the 2010 to 2014 model years. Approximately 464,712 cars are impacted in the United States, and 511,528 overall in North America. GM will alter the Camaro key to a more standard design, and will notify car owners with a recall notice in the mail.
In an announcement, the company said the ignition switches on the Camaros are fundamentally different parts than the older ignition switches found on defective cars that are responsible for killing at least 13 people and causing 54 crashes.
Victor Muller to pay Sweden back taxes for Saab work
Thu, 03 Oct 2013Victor Muller, Saab's CEO from 2010 to 2011, has been ordered by the Swedish court to pay the back taxes he owes the country for his work at Saab, Autoweek and Volkskrant report. When he was the automaker's CEO he received a salary of about 8 million Swedish Krona ($1.25 million), which was recorded as a reward for consultancy work for a company in the US that Muller owns. The move allowed him to evade taxes for awhile, but the court has ordered him to pay taxes on his full salary.
Muller, who is also CEO of Spyker, and two other Saab executives were accused of accounting fraud in May, which took place in 2010 and 2011. According to reports, Muller maintains that he is not subject to taxes in Sweden.
Saab's Victor Muller wanted to nix Griffin, return to airplane emblem
Tue, 09 Oct 2012According to Just-Auto.com Victor Muller wasn't a fan of the Saab Griffin logo. The executive was quoted as saying he wanted to "abolish" the Griffin logo and return to the airplane emblem. Muller made it clear that if he'd had his way, the propeller would have replaced the Griffin across the Saab lineup long ago.
National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the company that recently bought Saab, was forced to abandon the Griffin logo due to the fact that the emblem is still used by truck manufacturer Scania. The manufacturer is reportedly concerned about potential Chinese counterfeiting - NEVS is owned by Youngman, a Chinese automaker - though it's unclear how that relationship would lead to illegal copies.
Either way, NEVS has said the loss of the Griffin logo isn't that important to the company so long as it can continue to build on the Saab name. Muller, meanwhile, said he wishes NEVS luck in the company's electric-vehicle endeavor, but that he doesn't understand its new business model.
