For Auction is a 1995 SAAB 9000 Aero Turbo,  Automatic, NON TCS Car.

147K Miles, This Car is in Good Condition. It needs Minor work to be roadworthy again and I will detail exactly what work it needs.

First though,  This car was owned previously by a 50 year old mans mother who took very good care of it and dealer serviced it at Stetson Saab in Warren Maine before they closed.

The Head gasket was done a couple of years ago and has very few miles on it since then. Many other gaskets, Hoses and a new radiator were also installed at that time. It Runs Perfect with no leaks.

The Transmission Shifts properly and has good clean looking fluid in it.

The Interior is very clean and has original floormats still. Carpets underneath are very clean.

THE HEADLINER IS PERFECT! how many times do you hear that in a SAAB advertisement?

Aero Seats are still very nice though there is an abrasion on the drivers bolster only, which has gone through the material as you can see in the photos.

The Rest of the seats are in fantastic shape. 

The Body condition is good, but not perfect. Has some typical rust around the wheel arches on the drivers side which has been repaired previously and the rear wheel arch moulding on the drivers side has been replaced with a non aero one. The Passenger side is clean with no rust on the arches.

The car is still very good and straight looking, The Headlights are Clear and beautiful and I should probably be keeping them for my 93 Aero!

Nice Harmon Karden Stereo System which works properly and sounds Great.

 

Regarding the repairs it needs, here is the list;

   - Right front wheel bearing                                                            

   -  Rear Muffler and Exhaust Coupling about midway back, front Flexpipe and Muffler looks newer                                                     

   -  Both Heater Core and Blower Motor Need Replacement and I am Including a NEW BOSCH Blower Motor!

   - The ABS Light comes on after driving for a minute and is likely related to the Front wheel Bearing.

   - Could use a pair of Front tires, the Rear ones are new.

Brakes work well and front brakes are like new, the rear are ok, the e brake needs adjustment.

The Car can be driven home possibly within the New england area but I recommend coming for it with a dolly or trailer instead or at least having the wheel bearing replaced before making the trip.

If you know about these cars, then you know how comfortable, efficient, satisfying and High Performance they can be to own and drive!

They are also highly tuneable to the tune of over 300 HP with ease!

It is getting harder to find them with lower mileage in good condition for a fair price.

Saab begins 9-3 EV pilot production

To say that Saab has had a tough time lately would be like saying that it's been a little colder than usual this winter. After General Motors finally gave up and sold it to Spyker in 2010, Saab declared bankruptcy the following year. GM successfully blocked Spyker from selling Saab to Chinese automaker Youngman the following year, but ultimately it ended up in the hands of another Chinese consortium called NEVS. Standing as it does for National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the new owners promised not only to restart production of the long-suffering 9-3, but also to turn it into an electric vehicle. And that's just what it's doing.
The latest news coming out of Sweden indicates that NEVS/Saab has started building the first examples of the 9-3 EV. These first 200 or so examples are set to be shipped off to Qingdao - the Chinese city that is home to the Tsingtao brewery, hosted the sailing components of the 2008 summer games on Beijing, was supposed to host an IndyCar race in 2012 before it was canceled, and also itself just happens to own 22 percent of NEVS.
These first EVs have their batteries mounted down low in the chassis for a low center of gravity and have a range of about 20 miles on a full charge. That's absolutely paltry compared to the other EVs on the market: a Nissan Leaf will travel more than four times that distance, and a Tesla Model S will go ten times farther on a charge.

Court extends Saab reorganization bid until end of November

Saab parent company National Electric Vehicle Sweden refuses to go down without a fight. After a recent trip to court, the company is emerging with an extension on its reorganization until November 29. According to Europe Online Magazine, there's also an appointed committee of creditors and union representatives to monitor NEVS' restructuring process.
NEVS still isn't giving up hope of saving itself, and the company claims there are has two potential strategies for getting back on its feet. The main plan is to "finalize the negotiations with the two Asian automotive manufacturers," according to a press release. Those firms still aren't identified, but Mahindra may be involved. According to Europe Online Magazine, one of the businesses is looking to take partial ownership of NEVS, and the other is considering some sort of cooperation with it.
If that plan fails, the second option is to take advantage of the factory and become a contract manufacturer.

GM recalls over 230,000 more Trailblazer-family SUVs over door electronics

Back in August, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced a recall on the General Motors GMT360 SUVs (Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X) ranging from the 2005 to 2007 model years and the 2006 GMT370 SUVs (Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL) due to potential fires associated with the driver's door module. Initially limited to 250,000 units sold or registered in 20 Snow Belt states (and the District of Columbia), the recall has now been expanded to include an additional 193,000 of these SUVs in the US and, according to The Detroit News, 40,000 more sold outside the US, including Canada and Mexico.
Like the original recall, the issue is still a faulty driver's door module that can short out, which could lead to a fire. The Detroit News is reporting that, out of the 443,000 units being recalled, GM says that there were 58 fires that caused 11 minor injuries, and the expanded recall accounted for six fires and one injury. Despite the lower number of fires, the recall notice recommends that owners park their vehicles until the recall repairs has been performed.
On recalled units with functional modules, the repair consists of a protective coating being applied to the module, while vehicles with modules that are not working properly will have the driver's door module replaced. The official recall notice is posted below, and it includes contact information for customers of all five brands.
