Do you want a high performance car that's fun to drive or great gas mileage?
How about BOTH!
Up for your consideration is this rare Saturn Ion Redline Limited Edition with incredibly low miles and a supercharged engine. We bought this car a few years back as a weekend fun car and it was great on the road and at the gas pump. But now we have cars provided by our employer so the Redline was stored for a while and just isn't being driven enough any more.
I will do my best to outline the condition of the vehicle, but please feel free to ask questions or arrange for an inspection and/or test drive.
Engine/Drivetrain --
The car starts up just like it should and has a smooth idle. NO known mechanical problems exist with the motor, transmission or drivetrain. The engine is completely stock with the exception of a mild performance exhaust system. The vehicle will pass all 50 State Smog emissions tests. Steering is very tight and the car corners very well indicating a strong suspension system. The tires are newer Goodyear Eagle GTs with very low miles, but the right passenger side tire has a very slow leak due to being in storage, just needs to be remounted. A new battery was just installed.
Interior --
Seats, carpet and side panels are all in great shape with no rips or tears. The factory installed Recaro racing seats are comfortable and very supportive. The power sun roof and power windows all operate as they should. Power door locks all functional as well. Trunk is very spacious.
Exterior/Paint --
Since its a Saturn and most of the body panels are made of composite materials, the aren't any dings or dents in the sides or back as you would find on most cars. The hood does have a slight, but not very noticeable indentation on the front drivers side. Being that it's a black car, it shows EVERY nick, scrape, blemish, swirl and chip. The paint is glossy and looks good overall, but there are certainly some surface flaws that might come out with a good detail job. All lights work as they should.
Selling Details --
We are setting a VERY reasonable reserve and Buy it Now price. Please understand that we do not end auctions early without the BIN price being utilized. $1000 dollar non-refundable deposit will be required through Paypal.
I strongly encourage prospective bidders to inspect the vehicle before bidding. Test drive appointments will be available during the auction period in the evenings.
Out of state bidders: We will drive the vehicle to a local Dependable Auto Shippers terminal for you at no additional charge to save on vehicle shipping costs.
California bidders: The car was just registered and will be paid through next year.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes
Mon, 31 Mar 2014When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:
GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect
Tue, 17 Aug 20102010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.
