UP FOR AUCTION IS A VERY RELIABLE 1993 SATURN SC1 COOP. THE CAR WAS VERY WELL MAINTAINED. IT RUNS GREAT NO NOISE FROM THE ENIGINE. THE WATER PUMP WAS REPLACED LESS THAN A YEAR AGO AND THE RADIATOR WAS REPLACED TWO WEEKS AGO. IT HAS 3 GOOD TIRES. IT HAS FOUR ALUMINUM WHEELS ON IT AND ONE SPARE. THE SUBFRAME ON THE FRONT IS RUSTED OUT ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THIS WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED WHICH WOULD NOT BE HARD TO DO. THE CAR HAS ABOUT 160,000 MILES ON IT( THE ODOMETER IS NOT WORKING IT IS STUCK ON 140,000). THE ENIGINE HAS LESS MILEAGE BECAUSE IT WAS FACTORY REBUILT BEFORE WE GOT THE CAR. THE INTERIOR IS IN FAIR CONDITION THE DRIVER SEAT HAS A RIP AND THE HEAD LINER IS MISSING. THERE IS A GOOD CD PLAYER THAT IS NOT HOOKED UP. YOU WILL ALSO GET FOR NEW SPARK PLUGESS AND THE REAPAIR MANUAL.THE TITLE IS CLEAN.THIS CARS HAS BEEN A VERY RELIABLE CAR FOR US, WE JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO FIX THIS SIMPLE PROBLEM. NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
NHTSA opens safety investigations into Toyota, GM and Honda crossovers
Fri, 08 Jun 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is evidently keeping itself very busy these days, as the federal agency has just announced it is launching or renewing investigations into Toyota, Honda and General Motors crossovers.
2006-2008 model year Toyota RAV4 crossovers are under review for allegations of rear tie-rod rust which can result in failure. NHTSA also said it is probing some 35 complaints about 2005 Honda Pilot models with inappropriate activation of the vehicles' stability control system. The alleged malfunction can cause the vehicles to slow down or stop in bad unsafe situations. At the moment, NHTSA is reviewing a petition regarding the Pilot issue, a move that will determine whether it needs to open a full-blown investigation.
In addition, Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia three-row crossovers built in 2007-2009 are getting looked at for "loss of low beam headlamp" function. One complainant said the wiring in his Outlook overheated and melted. NHTSA says it has received 415 complaints about the problem and a GM spokesman confirmed that the automaker already started a "Customer Satisfaction Program" in December to address the issue.
