Lets start with the paint. Black Sand Pearl was shot around purple and blue flames. Custom hand pin striping and logos, flames were wrapped into the door jams. Full Air Bag suspension with air struts in the front and bags in the back, 2 three gallon tanks with twin compressors are controlled by Dakota digital gauges. Boyd's wheels made for this car with new tires. The interior is Katskin, Leather and suede included are the seats, dash, headliner and door panels. Custom sliding roof opens 40 x 70 inches (front and rear seats) Stereo.... here is where some big money was spent 3 yes 3 Alpine V12 amps powering 8 Alpine R series speakers. 2 subs reverse mounted in Custom hand made enclosure. Amps mounted on sides and over subs, back lit to show them better. 6in R series speakers in the factory locations makes this car sound ineradicable. Alpine DVD head unit with 7 in screens in the headrests. Additional gel cell battery as well as bass caps keep the subs powered during heavy bass. Power chip, header and Borla exhaust give the Box a little more power and a little rumble. $40,000 + spent building this beauty. EVO "2012 Car of the Year: The Track Battles" is a sports car salmagundi
Sun, 25 Nov 2012EVO has come out with another gotta-watch-it video, throwing its 2012 Car of the Year contestants around the UK's 1.5-mile Blyton Park track. It's actually a 15-minute teaser for the full-length DVD detailing the magazine's Car of the Year selection, but the tease is worth every penny free second.
Tiff Needell and sports car racer Richard Meaden handle the wheel duties, the two driving five pairs of sports cars: Lotus Exige S vs. Porsche Boxster S, Morgan Three-Wheeler vs. Toyota GT86, BMW M135i vs. Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series vs. Alpina B3 GT3, the marquee event pits the McLaren MP4-12C vs. the Pagani Huayra. After a head-to-head lap with commentary during drifts, Meaden takes each car out to set a representative lap time.

Scion FR-S SEMA showcars salute sun, style
Wed, 05 Nov 2014A brand like Scion is sort of a natural fit here at SEMA, what with the customizable schtick that it's trumpeted since being born in 2002. We've already seen some weird takes on the xB, but SEMA's magic wand has once done interesting things to the FR-S, seen here in a quartet of concepts.
Something that kind of piques our interest is this roofless, let-the-sun-in FR-S, but not in a way that we've seen before. Tuner Jeremy Lookofsky of Cartel Customs put the two-tone, topless FR-S together, and his creation also features an all-metal wide body with an integrated rear spoiler. It's decked out in a unique Azzuro California Blue (looks pretty beachy to us) and includes upgrades like a louvered rear window, 19-inch wheels, a center-mounted exhaust, big ol' turbo kit, KW coilover suspension, upgraded brakes, and a super-powerful audio system.
Also featured in FR-S land is the 10th annual Scion Tuner Challenge, in which three tuners received $15,000 to modify the coupe, taking cues from the Release Series 1.0 that debuted earlier this year. The three cars were done up by Super Street magazine, GT Channel, and Speedhunters. A panel of judges will look at the customs and a $10,000 grand prize will be given to the winners.
Scion FR-S SCCA World Challenge racecar, ready for the track
Thu, 01 Nov 2012Of all the many Scion FR-S models here on the SEMA floor in Las Vegas - and there are a great many of them, have no doubt - the very purpose-built car from Stout Racing is one that we may hear about again in the future.
The Stout Racing team will be campaigning the racy FR-S in the SCCA World Challenge series in the upcoming season, and is currently building some buzz on the Scion SEMA show stand. The car makes use of a supercharger that was jointly developed by Stout and TRD, as well as a front splitter, doors and rear wing - all by Vertex.
Driver Robert Stout will run the FR-S in the GTS class next year, with a debut slated for the Streets of St. Petersburg event, scheduled to go off in March of 2013.
