I never thought I'd sell this car but then again, my growing family isn't fitting with this car I've never stopped loving. It is the right time for me to say goodbye to this WRX.
I'm the second owner of this car. It currently has 139,xxx original miles on the odometer. It's on it's original engine and runs very strong. Originally bought from Santa Monica Subaru in 2004. The first owner was an older lady and the car was in near perfect conditions. Over the years I've upgraded a very long list of things on the vehicle inside and out. Here's a brief list of upgrades: VF30 Turbo UR600 injectors Godspeed catless up pipe high flow catted down pipe custom flanged 3" to 2.5" mid pipe Scoobysport round tip axle back Perrin silicone turbo inlet hose MAF hose turbo heat shield Scoobysport exhaust Pro Tuned by Cobb, fountain valley 04 WRX front seats 04 STi BBS rims running 225/17/40 JDM projector headlights paint matched side skirts (stock ones are unpainted black) complete Subaru Carbon Fiber pattern interior trim pieces aftermarket stereos with bluetooth & handsfree Prosport Boost Gauge RCE yellow springs Tokico D-spec Struts STi GroupN top hat Whiteline end links front+back Whiteline 22/24 sway bars front+back STi top mount radiator JDM STi hood scoop JDM STi front grill with STi badge STi steering bushings Sound dampening installed on all 4 doors and the hatch Carbon Fiber center console storage bin lid I brought the car over to COBB in Fountain Valley, CA to tune and they addressed several pin hole leakage to some of the hoses and swapped out to upgraded silicon hoses. Smoke test were done and the boost system is absolutely perfect. The car was dynode at their facility at 284hp and 282ft-lbs torque at 18.5lbs boost which is at a conservative and safe level. The ignition timing was just recently tuned again so the car just runs perfectly smooth. It's been well taken care of with every single possible maintenance done over the past and I have the paperwork to prove it. The suspension setup is done just right so it's a street setup that you can confidently throw it into the corners and stay planted but it won't break your back. Alignment is absolutely perfect and there's plenty of life in the tires. We also pulled all 4 injectors and had each of them professionally calibrated. All in all, this car is complete. Cons: - my upgraded auto dimming mirror started fading, it still kinda works and i bought a new one but they shipped me a wrong one. I can give you the whole thing and let you figure it out with the seller. - driver side windshield fluid sprayer just broke, it might just be clogged. - headlights are a bit cloudy after all these years and it could use a polish - few minor scratches front bumper and rear - rock chips that you would normally expect from a 12 year old car, but actually in very decent shape consider its age - over all the years i only curbed the car twice but it's only cosmetic and you probably won't even notice it I'm setting a relatively low reserve because I simply don't have garage space for her. I also have the original muffler I can include in the car in case you prefer something more quiet. The vehicle is located in Chino Hills near Los Angeles CA if you'd like to come and inspect. Plans for 7-seat Subaru Tribeca replacement becoming clearer
Mon, 11 Nov 2013Subaru is going to have its hands full at the Tokyo Motor Show next week, but while the Cross Sport Design Concept is expected to preview a Tribeca-replacing crossover, this new model could still be at least two years from production. It has already been confirmed that production of the Tribeca will end early next year, but in speaking with Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, the president of Subaru's parent Fuji Heavy Industries, Automotive News is reporting that there will be a lengthy gap between the Tribeca and its eventual replacement.
The next-gen three-row crossover wasn't included in an annual production capacity goal of 500,000 units expected in the US by the end of 2016, so it's likely that we won't see this much-needed CUV until 2017. While the details of this new model aren't known, Yoshinaga told AN that it will be "completely different" from the Tribeca. As we heard back in February, we do expect this seven-passenger crossover to grow in size in order to offer a larger cabin with more third-row space.
Automotive News even mentions that the Tribeca replacement could be based on the existing Subaru Exiga from the Japanese market. That three-row vehicle splits the difference between a minivan and wagon, with swinging doors instead of sliders, and a tall greenhouse.
Subaru teasing new WRX S4 model ahead of Japanese debut
Fri, 25 Jul 2014The Subaru WRX range is growing just a little bit larger, at least in Japan, with the automaker's teasing announcement of a new version called the S4. Unfortunately, the company is keeping details about its latest all-wheel drive sport sedan a closely guarded secret for the moment.
From what we can glean, it appears that the S4 might be a more luxurious take on the WRX. According to the release, the name stands for the four qualities that Subaru wants the sedan to have: "'Sports performance', 'Safety performance', 'Smart driving' and 'Sophisticated feel.'" As part of this focus, the car comes with the company's EyeSight camera system. Thankfully, we don't have too long to wait to find out what all of the buzz words actually mean because Subaru is unveiling the S4 on August 25 in Japan.
The automaker also launched a teaser website for the S4 that you can cheek out, here, but at the moment it doesn't provide any more details about the new sport sedan. The site just has countdown until the August reveal. There's also no indication yet whether this potentially more premium WRX could make it US shores. Subaru planning modular platform, seven-seat SUV, plug-in hybrid
Fri, 09 May 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles isn't the only big name in the auto industry releasing details on its future plans. Subaru, and its parent company Fuji Heavy Industries, is aiming to bump its North American sales up from 478,000 to 600,000 by 2020. Now, that seems pretty reasonable, especially in the face of FCA's hugely ambitious goals for Alfa Romeo and Maserati. It's how Subaru will go about increasing the sales, though, that has us intrigued.
A focus on more fuel-efficient, direct-injection engines will complement a new platform, while the company is contemplating expanding capacity at its Indiana factory, which will now have more room since Toyota Camry production will be ending there.
As for that new platform, it's called the Subaru Global Platform. Original, we know. It's a modular deal and will eventually underpin a vast range of future Subies following its debut in 2016. The new platform may also end up underpinning a seven-seat SUV, which would serve as the successor to the Tribeca and debut between 2016 and 2020, according to Automotive News.
