2004 Subaru Impreza WRX 5 Speed in World Rally Blue
~80,000 miles
ONE OWNER CAR
Clean Title
Purchased New August 2003.

For sale is a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX. This car is in great condition and has been maintained by the book. The car just passed
PA State Inspection in June and needed nothing. The car will have its oil changed in the next 200 miles, and has no problems.
It has been changed with synthetic oil since 30k miles.
The car has been in the family since new. I have all paperwork and records, including original window sticker.
The brakes and tires have about 50% life meaning the car will need nothing for a year or 7500 miles.

The body work has very mild dings and chips but otherwise has great bodywork. The interior is very clean and has mild wear given its age.
There are dents and mild scratches on the rear door jambs, due to people closing the door with the seat belt buckle still in the door.
There are no rips or tears in the seats. The trunk carpeting is discolored due to a spill years ago, but otherwise this car is in impressive condition.

The car is daily driven, so mileage will be going up slowly. The car is located in Hatboro, PA.

The few but tasteful modifications include:

ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN
STi Short Throw Shifter (Factory installed option)

BRAKES
Hawk HPS Pads Front & Rear  (Excellent all around pads, no noise, low dust, great performance)
H6 Rear Rotor Upgrade  (Balances brake bias closer to neutral, larger rear rotors also look better)
Goodridge SS Lines  (Great improvement in pedal feel and the SS lines will never degrade)
ATE Super Blue Fluid

SUSPENSION/WHEELS
Kartboy Front Endlinks  (Stock front endlinks wore out, this is a stronger replacement)
STi Fender Braces   (Helps steering feel and turn in with no increase in NVH)

EXTERIOR
Cleared + Black Painted Head Lights
Debadged "SUBARU" on Trunk
Pillarless Grill

INTERIOR
Momo Leather/Aluminum Shift Knob
Matching Deadpedal   (Should have come from the factory with this)
Shifter Trim

A closer look at the 2015 Subaru WRX

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

For enthusiasts, the debut of the 2015 Subaru WRX was arguably one of the more important happenings at last week's LA Auto Show. After all, the 'Rex has been one of our perennial favorite all-weather sports cars, able to offer big thrills in any clime thanks to its turbocharged engine, manual gearbox and top-notch all-wheel-drive system.
For 2015, some big changes have been made to our favorite Subie, including the removal of the hatchback body style and availability of a continuously variable transmission. Of course, there's also the new, 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, not to mention the completely revised styling.
Lots of talking points, for sure, so West Coast Editor Michael Harley chatted with Dominick Infante, national manager of product communications for Subaru USA, who promises us that this car will be the "best-handling WRX ever." As for that CVT, Infante assures us that it was "designed for a sports car" and that the company aims to change the minds of people (like us, admittedly) who have a hard time warming up to the idea of this transmission in a package like the WRX.

Subaru WRX and STI meet at the dyno with interesting results

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

Road and Track recently put the 2015 Subaru WRX and the 2015 WRX STI through a battery of dyno tests to find out not only how much difference there is between their two engines, but what kind of differences there are. The WRX gets the company's new FA20 2.0-liter boxer four-cylinder engine with features like a twin-scroll turbocharger, direct injection and variable valve timing on its two cams. The WRX STI stands pat with the older EJ-Series motor, meaning a 2.5-liter boxer four-cylinder with port fuel injection and carryover turbo lag. Subaru pegs the $26,295 WRX at 268 horsepower, 258 pound-feet of torque and an "extremely conservative" 0-60 mile per hour time of 5.4 seconds. The $34,495 STI clocks in at 305 hp and 290 lb-ft with a 0-60 mph time of 5.1 seconds. Ok, fight.
R&T's dyno runs sussed power numbers at the wheel of 223 hp and 245 lb-ft for the WRX, 247 hp and 243 lb-ft for the STI, then went on to demonstrate in numbers what everyone knew: that the WRX consistently puts out more of its torque earlier than the STI and achieves full boost almost three seconds quicker. On the other hand, on the track, the STI was also shown to have a conservative official 0-60 mph time, stopping the timer at 4.8 seconds compared to the WRX's 5.2 seconds.
The mag says it has comprehensive results coming from its "complete battery of tests," but for now, you can scrutinize their dyno charts and let the battle continue about which one you'd rather put your money down for.

2015 Subaru Legacy, Outback crash their way to IIHS Top Safety Pick+ ratings [w/video]

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

The Subaru Legacy and Outback are the latest vehicles to be awarded the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's most prestigious safety title, Top Safety Pick+.
As we've explained many times before, this only applies vehicles that can score an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating on the five IIHS crash tests and earn at least a "Basic" rating for crash prevention systems.
In the Legacy's case, it totally aced IIHS's testing, earning "Good" scores on the small overlap, front moderate overlap, side impact, roof crush and rear impact tests, while also bringing home the top "Superior" rating for its optional EyeSight system.
