1985 Suzuki Samurai , Jimny Sj410 Sport Utility 2-door Project on 2040-cars
Cordova, South Carolina, United States
I have a 1985 Suzuki Samurai , Jimny SJ410 Project. The vehicle was parked under a shed for the past 8 years. The transmission has been removed but is included with the vehicle. The transmission needs either to be rebuilt or replaced. The trans was removed because it had a bearing noise. The 1.0 engine was running when parked and with a little tlc can easily be running again. The body has 3 spots of rust, one on the passenger side back fenderwell, on the windshield frame, and a small spot on the drivers door pilar. This rest of the vehicle is solid. There is no top included but the frame is included. This Suzuki has a flip down windshield and factory air. This is a good restore, rock crawler, mud truck, or beach cruiser project. The vehicle has 66,812 original miles and I have a clear South Carolina title in hand. Email with any questions. I reserve the right to end auction early as it is for sale locally.

It's a hard knock life for a N"urburgring rental car
Wed, 12 Dec 2012Rental cars get no respect. They're abused, misused and flogged mercilessly as athletes in Rental Car Olympics. And that's just at your everyday airport rental counter. The torture gets extreme for rental cars thrashed around Germany's infamous Nürburgring.
Rent4Ring expects its customers to drive its cars around the 'Ring with enthusiasm and, in some cases, less skill than the pros. Rent4Ring just recently retired its Suzuki Swift Sport from its fleet and shared the car's two-year-plus lifetime highlights.
The little hatchback made more than 2,800 laps of the 'Ring over three seasons amounting to more than 310,000 miles driven by 457 different drivers. "Some were fast, some were slow. Some were nice to the car, a few were frankly awful," says a Rent4Ring rep.
This is the facelifted Suzuki SX4 that we won't get
Tue, 05 Feb 2013The car you see above is, according to China Car Times, the facelifted Suzuki SX4 crossover. We've always had a soft spot for the SX4, so the fact that it's finally getting a significant update makes us a wee bit sad - after all, Suzuki just announced late last year that it's leaving the US market, so we'll never get this upgraded little 'ute on our shores.
Changes we can see include aggressively resculpted lighting units, interesting mold lines on the front bumper cap, redesigned air intakes and unique trim fillets on the doors.
At least we can take solace in the fact that there apparently aren't any significant alterations under the new bodywork, so our crop of used SX4s should be just as capable out on the road. In China, Suzuki's 1.6- and 1.8-liter four-cylinder engines are expected to carry over to the new year, along with the current model's CVT and manual drivelines.
Volkswagen drops "GTi" lawsuit against Suzuki
Tue, 02 Oct 2012Way back in 2004, Volkswagen took umbrage with Suzuki being granted permission to use the nameplate "SWIFT GTi" for a performance variant of its small-car offering (2012 equivalent seen here). Now, eight years and surely some very steep legal bills later, VW has finally dropped its claim against Suzuki.
The General Court of the European Union stated, back in March of this year, that Suzuki's GTi registration could not be confused with VW's "Golf GTI." Volkswagen had appealed that ruling, though has now reportedly called off the dogs. In fact, Germany's Die Welt reports that the appeal has been dead for several weeks now.
This news comes amongst continued arbitration acrimony between the two automakers, all revolving around VW's forced divestiture of nearly 20-percent stake it purchased in Suzuki some two years ago.
