After many wonderful years of ownership, finally selling our Samurai. The jeep was purchased new from our local Suzuki dealer back in 1988.
Over the past 10 years it has been relegated to a backup vehicle, used mainly for trips to the garden center. Stored under a carport 100% of the time.
We just got it back from our mechanic for a routine service and it is running great. It has recently passed the state inspection (2 weeks ago).
Recent items replaced are the starter, spark plugs, rotor button and distributor cap. New battery about a year ago. The tires are about 85% tread life left and an upgrade in terms of brand and wider foot print (Goodyear GTAs I believe). The front two seats are upgraded cloth upholstered seats with side bolsters that fit nicely with the remaining stock interior. Recent carpet addition. Jeep is very clean inside and out.
New exterior door latches (aftermarket aluminum upgraded variety).
It has an aftermarket Sony radio that was a very nice model when it was new. The jeep came factory equipped with air conditioning and is functional although it needs a belt.
It has the original paint that is very presentable with the exception of the ding here and there and a faded area (which can possibly be buffed out- never done prior). I captured them in the photos. The jeep always fires right up, no matter how long it sits without being driven. It has never been driven off road and the majority of mileage is highway going back and forth from North Carolina to Mississippi. 4WD only engaged a once or twice. Engine does not smoke nor require addition of oil between changes.
Selling it as it no longer gets driven regularly.
Clear title and current state inspection and registration.
Thanks for looking and please e-mail with questions.

205k Suzuki models being investigated for airbag sensor issue
Wed, 19 Jun 2013The Detroit News is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation on the 2006-11 Suzuki Grand Vitara and 2007-11 Suzuki SX4 due to issues with the airbag and seatbelt for the front passenger seat. So far, NHTSA has received 128 complaints on these vehicles for airbag warning lights, airbag off lights and seatbelt lights, on a vehicle set that totals around 205,000 units, but there is no indication as to how many, if any, injuries have reported.
Via technical service bulletins, Suzuki has already acknowledged two airbag-related issues with front passenger seats on both vehicles, including a programming error for the passenger seat load indicator on 2009 models and an open-circuit problem for the sensor mat that determines if an adult or child is sitting in the front seat. Since this latter issue would not shut off or lessen the impact of the passenger airbag, Suzuki has already extended the warranty for the seat cushion bottom to 10 years or 120,000 miles. After ceasing new-car sales in the US and Canada, potential recall repairs (which still may or may not happen) would be handled by remaining dealers as laid out in the recent court-approved bankruptcy plan.
Suzuki demand in US rises after bankruptcy
Wed, 26 Dec 2012Following word that Suzuki is ceasing car sales in America, it appears that demand for the Japanese automaker's wares have increased. According to The Detroit News, American Suzuki Motor Corp. will import an additional 2,500 vehicles to quench demand that has jumped since the company announced that it was filing for bankruptcy and ending sales in America.
Dealers recently informed their sales personnel that no more vehicles would be produced and that this was the final push. With heavy incentives and a seven-year warranty as value-adds, November sales for Suzuki rose in November some 22 percent, up to 2,224 vehicles. December sales also rose, but neither month's gains outweigh the long-term losses for the automaker. While Suzuki will sell roughly 22,000 cars this year in the US, it was selling about 120,000 annually before 2008.
As it stands, Suzuki will sell off the rest of its vehicle inventory, including the 2,500 additional units, and dealers will continue to provide parts an warranty work. With all of this negative news for the automaker, it's impressive to see an interest in Suzuki vehicles even with the imminent shuttering of its North American car sales.
Suzuki brings slew of car and bike concepts to Tokyo
Fri, 22 Nov 2013As an automaker, Suzuki may be long gone from American shores, but it's still a force to be reckoned with in its home country of Japan. At this week's Tokyo Motor Show, the brand known as much for its two-wheeled fare as its four displayed a slew concept vehicles for both drivers and riders.
The first is the Crosshiker concept (above), which Suzuki says is a followup to the Regina concept that debuted two years ago at the Tokyo show. Based on the same platform but elevated to the stance of a crossover, the Crosshiker is motivated by a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine, keeping it eco-chic while appealing to adventurous types with its fun styling.
Next up is the X-Lander Concept (above, left) that Suzuki says was made for use in the city and "sometimes go out to play in the field." Based on the Japanese-market production Jimny, the X-Lander features four-wheel drive and a hybrid powertrain with a 1.3-liter engine.
