1995 Toyota Avalon XLS

Many new items and repairs.  I purchased this vehicle October of 2012, but have not driven in much, slight over 1000 miles since inspection.  I find this car uncomfortable for my back, it is an issue I have had with cars.

It appears the the following items have been repaired by the previous owner.

The portion of the exhaust from the CATALYTIC CONVERTOR forward to the engine has been replaced, the rest of the exhaust is in good shape.
TIRE AND BRAKES have been replaced just prior to inspection, both most likely have less than 2000 miles.
I was able to pull away the TIMING BELT cover and see the belt.  It had, made in USA printed on the belt, most likely the timing belt has been replaced at least once.
I believe if the belt was oem, the belt would have Toyota or Asian name printed on it.

Since I have had the car, I put in a NEW BATTERY, replaced the SPARK PLUGS plugs and the VALVE COVER GASKETS.
I just changed the OIL.

This car is being sold as-is, but many of the routine maintenance issues should not be a concern for sometime.

The driver's side door lock will not allow the key to be push in.  The car does have one FOB.

There is a small leak coming from the left rack and pinion seal.  This should not be a major problem.  I noticed another auction on Avalon on Ebay had the same problem, the owner used
Lucas Stop Leak Power Steering fluid, and occasionally get a small spot on the driveway.

The driver's seatbelt does not retract very well, but it does slowly.

The car does have it's share of dings and scrapes, shown the best I could in photos.  The are not severe, the most visible is the scraping of the bumpers, revealing the black plastic underneath.  The area below the trunk and above the bumper has been pushed in, the trunks close well.

It has a after market stereo.  Alpine CDE 122 with USB port.

Interior is in good condition.

KBB price value is $3059.00

I have the reserve at $2950.00.  This vehicle is listed locally. I will consider other bids if the reserve is not met.

I believe I have describe this vehicle fairly and appropriately.

2014 Toyota Corolla coming Thursday, now with LED headlamps

Tue, 04 Jun 2013

Here's what we know about the redesigned 2014 Toyota Corolla: It will have "aggressive new styling" with "available seventeen-inch alloy wheels" an "available touch screen audio" system and "available LED headlights."
We know all of this because Toyota has seen fit to release a small assortment of teaser images of the 2014 Corolla, with those descriptions attached. The latest to hit the web shows LED lighting clusters, which, to Toyota's credit, don't appear to merely mimic designs already seen in the automotive world.
We should point out that the headlights do share a link to the units seen on the Furia Concept that was supposed to foreshadow the next Corolla, though the most interesting bits - namely the honeycomb inner pattern - have been chucked while the somewhat trapezoidal main units remain intact.

2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport

Tue, 16 Apr 2013

"Oh yeah, Toyota still makes the Tacoma." Admit it, that's what you just said to yourself. It's a perfectly natural reaction, but the Tacoma has been quietly anchoring its segment for years, outselling every other compact pickup without making too much of a fuss. Toyota hasn't neglected the Tacoma - it was updated in 2012 with a revised nose and interior as the most noteable changes.
In a world awash with high-value fullsize pickups all vying for your attention, the Tacoma still charms more than a few buyers out of their cash. I hooked a Tacoma for a week to see whether it still has enough to recommend it.

Next-gen Toyota Tacoma mule caught towing in the desert

Wed, 13 Aug 2014

With the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon set to arrive in dealers in the near future, it's high time Toyota got to work on a replacement for the Tacoma, a vehicle whose present generation debuted in the middle of the Bush Administration. Now, we have images of that new pickup undergoing testing.
Our spy photographers picked up this heavily modified mule undergoing tow tests in the desert. It rides on a modified version of the current Taco's frame, as evidenced by shots of its undercarriage, although our spies cite the lack of riveted sections as indications that the current truck's footprint should remain unchanged.
Aside from underbody changes, this particular Tacoma featured a six-speed manual transmission, which we're expecting to be joined by a six-speed automatic. The current four- and five-speed autos found on the current truck will almost certainly be killed off. Marching to the grave with those slushboxes will be the two-door Regular Cab body style. Our spies are expecting Toyota to focus its efforts on the larger, more accessible Double Cab.
