2003 Toyota Avalon Xls - Loaded!! Buffalo, Ny Area on 2040-cars
Clarence Center, New York, United States
Great car is very good condition. In the Buffalo NY area.
Loaded Toyota Avalon XLS. Burgundy with tan leather interior. No rips or tears. 160,000 miles. I use this car daily so mileage will change. Garage kept. Runs and looks great. Serviced and inspected in December 2013. Service was brakes. Tires and brakes less than 1 year old. Has aluminum rims and rear sport spoiler. Very sharp car! Blue Book is $5,200 to $6,400. Comes with "nose bra" for even sportier look (which is left off during winter to avoid ice build up). Includes 2 keys AND 2 fobs! ABS, power everything, traction control, rain sensing wipers, heated seats, this car has everything! 6 cylinders has lots of pick-up but with Toyota quality it gets about 23 MPG in the city and higher on the highway. Regular unleaded gas - not higher octane like some sports cars. Timing belt and water pump were done at 105K. No maintenance lights on. |

A few pre-race notes and a lot of photos from the 24 Hours of Le Mans
Sat, 14 Jun 2014The 82nd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is on.
Audi has won 12 of the last 15 events, the scion of Auto Union is trying to make it 13 this year. To do so, it will have to overcome a situation faced only three other times during its dominance of La Sarthe: underdog status. Toyota has won the first two races of the year and claimed pole for this race, the rumor being that this year it's Toyota's race to lose.
And then there's Porsche. It's been 16 years since the Stuttgart brand raced on the top rung at Le Mans, three years years since it announced its return, just a year since it acquired Mark Webber in a signing that wasn't subtle and a few months since we got eyes on the 919 Hybrid.
Toyota reaches $1.2B unintended acceleration settlement in criminal probe
Wed, 19 Mar 2014UPDATE: Just like that, Toyota has released an official statement confirming its $1.2-million dollar settlement with the US Attorney's Office. Our story has been updated to reflect this development and the automaker's official statement has been added below.
Toyota has reached a settlement over the criminal probe into its unintended acceleration problems, and the outcome is more expensive than first expected. The Japanese automaker has agreed to pay $1.2 billion to close the investigation among other settlement terms. The criminal inquiry focused on whether the company kept information from regulators and how it handled drivers' complaints about the problems, according to the sources.
Between 2009 and 2010, Toyota ended up recalling over 10 million vehicles worldwide over sudden acceleration fears. Fixes include modifying floor mats, gas pedals, and installing brake override software on affected models. In addition, Toyota made the latter standard on all of its new vehicles.
Toyota to offer sedan version of GT 86?
Fri, 11 Oct 2013Sources in Australia are reporting that we'll be seeing a small, rear-drive sedan from Toyota, based on the GT 86/Scion FR-S. Yes, a convertible variant is still in limbo, but a four-door sedan is in the works. It's unclear if the rumored GT 86 sedan would spawn Scion and Subaru variants (it's hard to cross all ten fingers while you type, but we're having a go).
Working with remarks made by the car's chief engineer Tetsuya Tada in his blog and a rendering from Japanese magazine Holiday Auto, the Australian site Motoring is claiming that the new model's wheelbase will grow about four inches over the current GT 86's 101.2-inch wheelbase.
Besides the larger overall space between the axles, the sedan will offer a more potent engine option over the current 2.0-liter, flat-four. Promising 268 horsepower, which is a big jump over the current car's 200 ponies, the new powertrain will be derived from the Hybrid R setup, shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show. If, like us, you're reaching for the salt, and we don't blame you.
