Kokomo, Indiana, United States

History:  1999 Toyota Camry - 2.2l with ~218000 miles, I am the 2nd owner of this vehicle, and have owned it now for the last 4 years.  I purchased it from a dealer that the original owner traded it to for a new camry.  The original owner drove it as his leased work car for ~1 year, and then purchased it out-right.  The car had ~135000 miles when I purchased it.  I drive the vehicle 35 miles 1 way to work down Highway 31.  Car gets between 28 and 30 MPG.  I have serviced the vehicle on regular maintenance intervals, including at 200k replacing radiotor/flushing, servicing transmission, replacing brake & P.S. fluid.  I am only selling the vehicle due to purchasing a newer vehicle with more luxury items etc... that I hope I do not regret (Domestic).  Feel free to ask me any questions, concerns, etc... that you may have.  If close by, feel free to contact me for a test drive as well.  I can take more pictures as well if needed.

Mechanical Condition:  No known Mechanical Defects.  Very Well Maintained Mechanically, and the car just goes needing very little maintenance compared to other Domestics that I have owned
Upcoming Needs - Timing belt was replaced at 130000 miles by original owner, Toyota recommends every 100000 miles, so would need to be done in the next 20000 miles
Tranny-Shifts smoothly, never any issues, flushed at 200k, uses no fluid
Engine-Starts easily, idles, runs smooth, uses ~1 quart of oil every 3500 miles
Steering-Runs down highway straight, no pulling, tires wearing evenly
Drive-ability-Drives very well, comfortable, tight around corners, Cruise Works
Cooling-Radiator Replaced at 200k, system flushed during this time
AC-Very cool, have never had to charge system since owning
Battery-Die Hard Battery
Tires-Michelin Tires Replaced at 185k, 80k mile tires.  No bouncing, etc...
Paint:  No Rust on Vehicle, car does have its share of paint chips on the front of vehicle from rock chips and other debris, a few door dings and and small dents, dent at trunk lid shown in picture that was present when I purchased the vehicle, waxed 3 times a year, still shines, drivers door handle broke in half a few winters ago but still functions correctly
Interior:  No rips or tears in upholstry, no lights on dash, power windows, locks, cruise, AC all work.

Options:  Cruise, AC, Power Steering, Power Door Locks, Power Windows, No Keyless entry, but key will unlock all doors when inserted

Shipping & Payment:  Local Pick-up only with either Cash or Bank Cashiers Check

2014 Toyota Corolla and Tundra production underway

Fri, 02 Aug 2013

After months of leaked photos and speculative reports, Toyota finally unveiled its 2014 Corolla to the world in early July at a star-studded California party. The confetti has been swept up and the champagne flutes washed and stored, and now the real work can begin: production. Toyota has announced that its new C-segment player has begun rolling off the lines at its plants in Mississippi and Ontario, Canada this week ahead of the planned start of sales in September. What's more, the refreshed 2014 Tundra pickup has also segued into production in San Antonio, Texas.
Corolla production in Mississippi is still a relatively recent phenomenon, with the plant having begun assembly of the outgoing model in the fourth quarter of 2011, while Toyota's Cambridge, Ontario plant has been churning out the compact volume king since 1988. Conversely, the Tundra has been in production at the Texas facility since 2006, and Toyota projects that the plant will build its milestone one-millionth new vehicle in September, right around the time the reworked fullsize pickup goes on sale.

Toyota Prius line may not reach 2013 sales target

Mon, 22 Apr 2013

2012 was a good year for the Toyota Prius line, the hybrid that started it all moving 236,659 units, being the best-selling model in California for the year and the Prius C (pictured) being deemed the most reliable car of 2012 by Consumer Reports. Then 2013 happened, and gas prices dropped more than expected, and people haven't been buying the little hybrids like they used to.
A report in Bloomberg says Toyota set 250,000 units as the Prius family's sales target for this year, but hits like the double-digit drop in year-on-year performance in February have helped lower 2013 sales by 8.4 percent compared to 2012, making the objective "a challenge" to reach. The declines in Prius sales come even as hybrid sales overall were up in the first couple of months this year, including sales of other Toyota and Lexus hybrids. Jim Lentz, Toyota's North American chief, said the Prius target would be adjusted if necessary.

Shuttle-hauling Tundra finds permanent home in science exhibit

Mon, 03 Jun 2013

The idea of lifting a full-size pickup truck completely off the ground by hand might seem as likely as, say, said pickup truck towing a 150,000-pound space shuttle, but... hurray, physics! The same Toyota Tundra that towed the Space Shuttle Endeavour to its final resting place at the California Science Center is now on permanent display there as an exhibit that shows how a lever works.
Like all levers, this exhibit uses a fulcrum allowing people other than Superman to lift the 5,625-pound pickup (plus an extra 1,000 pounds for the rig). That's almost as impressive as the Tundra pulling 17 times its rated towing capacity back in October. Regardless, Toyota is once again cashing in on the publicity stunt and visitors to the science center get a live demonstration of a simple machine - we call that a win-win.
