2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser for sale! This is an amazing machine that not only operates like a beast off-road but drives like a dream on-road! I've owned this vehicle for about a year and a half and only put about 5,000 miles on it. It only has 39,750 miles and the motor shows it. Most of the work done to this vehicle was completed prior to my purchase. It has some scuffs and scrapes from previous owners but the interior is in great shape. The vehicle does have a salvaged title due to body and suspension damage incurred by the first owner during a trip to the Rubicon. I purchased it as a second vehicle and weekend play rig so the title did not bother me. I'm only selling to fund new projects but I'm in no hurry or need. There's almost $20k in upgrades not even counting the value of the vehicle. Buy this rig and own a truly "one of a kind." Below are a list of features and modifications but feel free to call or email for full details. My cell doesn't have reception at home. So if no response, please call the landline or email. I will respond as quickly as possible.  The vehicle is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime.  I do drive the vehicle occasionally so the mileage may increase but not substantially.

Scion trying to build business case for FR-S convertible as Subaru bows out

    Tue, 28 Jan 2014

Hope may remain for a convertible version of the Scion FR-S, according to a report from Ward's Auto. You'll recall that rumors were swirling about the feasibility of a rear-drive Toyobaru convertible as early as October, and that back in November, Subaru - which makes the FR-S, Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 - essentially nixed the idea of an open-topped variant.
"We make the car, so if we don't make it, it can't happen," brand chief Yasuyuki Yoshinaga told Automotive News, according to Ward's, at the Tokyo Motor Show. "Our engineering department told me that losing the entire roof requires a complete redesign of the structure. It would need a big change."
Despite Yoshinaga-san's arguments against a droptop variant, Toyota is apparently still considering the model. Speaking to media at the 2014 North American International Auto Show, Scion's US vice president, Doug Murtha, hinted that the rear-drive droptop was in the works.

MotorWeek remembers retro icons, Supra and NSX

    Thu, 16 Oct 2014

It's easy to poke a joke here and there about John Davis, the long-time host of MotorWeek. His voice is so monotonous that, from time to time, if you closed your eyes, you may think it's generated via a computer. But you have to give him and the rest of the show a lot of credit. The program has been on the air for decades, giving people direct, straight-down-the middle automotive reviews.
MotorWeek's massive back catalog of reviews are slowly making their way onto YouTube, and they provide a fascinating chance to look back on how performance cars rank against their contemporaries from back in the day. Two recent additions include the show's old looks at the 1986 Toyota Supra, the dawn of the third-generation model, and the now-iconic 1991 Acura NSX.
Both reviews are interesting in their own way. These days you hear nary a negative word about the original NSX, but MotorWeek isn't afraid to point out a few flaws. And the Supra really shows the progress of suspension tuning in the intervening decades because it has some serious body roll in the corners. Scroll down to check out both videos and get a blast from the automotive past.

Toyota brings TRD Griffon GT86 to Goodwood [w/video]

    Fri, 12 Jul 2013

In the midst of the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, there's a particularly special Toyota running up the hill. This special entry is a GT86 (the cousin to our Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ) that's been poked, prodded, and tweaked by the minds at Toyota Racing Development. The result of TRD's fettling is a nearly race-ready car.
Starting with the body, the hood, doors, trunk lid, and wings are all made of carbon fiber. The lightweight treatment doesn't end there, though. The bumpers, fenders, and diffuser all feature carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic, while the windows are now made of polycarbonate plastic.
Under the hood sits the same 2.0-liter boxer engine found in the standard GT86, but its six-speed manual gearbox features a shorter final drive ratio for improved acceleration. The coilover suspension has been firmed up, and a TRD mechanical limited-slip differential replaces the Torsen unit. The TRD Griffon rides on TWS 18-inch wheels and Yokohama Advan tires. To bring proceedings to a stop, TRD has fitted its own mono-block caliper kit, complete with more robust racing pads.
