I have this outstanding 2010 FJ Cruiser 4x4 Automatic Transmission Sport Utility up for auction. I am retired Toyota General Manager here in Central Texas and this FJ is my first purchase since leaving the dealership and going into private practice. We opened a buying service in Austin called ProCar Consulting. You can find me on the web at procarconsulting.org. I bought this FJ in Michigan in July and drove it back to Austin myself. It is a one owner from Monroe, Michigan and was owned by a male nurse that took great care of the FJ and rarely took it off road. Its been in the snow twice since 2010 and the local Toyota Dealership in Monroe serviced this rig every trip for oil changes and tire rotations. He special ordered his FJ Cruiser and included every option on the Convenience Package and Upgrade Package #2, plus Running, Boards, Daytime Running Lights, Roof Rack, Carpet Floor Mats and Cargo Mat, Towing Hitch and Wire harness, and Armrest Passenger side. $2275 for Convenience Package, $2720 for Upgrade Package, Boards $345, Lights $40, Rack $649, Mat $199, Hitch $349, Armrest $125 Check out the others on Autotrader and Ebay . This one has the right equipment and I am offering it less than any dealer for 4x4 auto with the 49,500 miles. I am no longer driving the FJ since I traded for a Lexus RX350 2009 with 22,000 miles. I bought the FJ with 44,000 and drove it 1,200 miles home so I've put less than 5,000 miles on since July. It still has remaining power train warranty from Toyota. All systems are working fine including the subwoofer and back up sensors and camera. Please don't hesitate to call me personally with any questions. I have the original window sticker, all the books, and two keys with remotes. I just bought the rubber mats from Weather Tech to go with the original floor mats and cargo mat. 512-415-9582. I will pick up at the airport if you want to fly in and drive her home. Jim Stienke ProCar Consulting Inc. Austin, Texas

Gazoo heads to the N"urburgring with Lexus LFA Code X

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

You'd be forgiven for thinking just because the Lexus LFA has ended its production run (it's been over a year now) that Toyota would have ceased its development. You'd be forgiven, but Gazoo Racing is here to tell you you'd still be wrong.
One of Toyota's many works racing teams, Gazoo is returning to the 24-hour endurance race at the Nürburgring this year with a trio of entries. One is based on the Toyota GT86 (which we know as the Scion FR-S), and one is essentially the same LFA that it's entered in years past. But the third vehicle is dubbed Code X.
It's also based on the LFA, but its 4.8-liter V10 engine has been bored out to 5.3 liters, raising its output to untold levels. It's got a full carbon-fiber chassis and a range of other enhancements that Gazoo isn't telling us about just yet, but they should turn the LFA Code X from a road-going supercar beyond a racecar and into a rolling research lab. Considering that Gazoo has been racing at the 'Ring since 2007 and fielding versions of the LFA there since 2008, it'll be interesting to see how the Code X version fares.

Unifor may establish local union for Toyota's Canadian plants

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

Union tactics apparently translate across borders, as Canada's Unifor may take inspiration from the United Auto Workers' recent move at the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, TN, and establish a local for the Toyota factories in Cambridge and Woodstock.
Unifor last attempted to organize the workers at the two factories, which are responsible for production of the Toyota Corolla (above), RAV4 and Lexus RX back in April, but that vote was eventually delayed. According to that report, 3,000 of the two plants' 7,500 employees signed union cards, but that apparently wasn't enough for Unifor to force a vote.
Because of this, the union is looking at the local approach, like what the UAW is attempting with VW.

Toyota nears $40B cash reserve as calls grow for new investment, payouts

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

With the April 15 tax deadline just a few months away, our US readers will be faced with a decision should they get a refund: save or spend? It seems this issue is one many of us face whenever there's a windfall, trying to decide whether we should set the money aside in an account of some sort or use it as a down payment on a new car or a trip to the Apple store. Unsurprisingly, major corporations face a similar, albeit more complex, issue.
Take Toyota, for example. With President Akio Toyoda at the helm, the Japanese manufacturer has gracefully weathered recalls and natural disasters, all while turning beaucoup profits. Last quarter, profits quintupled to 434.4-billion yen ($4.3-billion USD), according to Bloomberg. Toyota also upped its forecast for the end of fiscal year 2013 (which ends on March 31 for Japan), to a record 1.9-trillion yen (about $18.8 billion). Now, the Japanese brand is reportedly sitting on a cash pile of nearly $40 billion, leaving Toyoda-san in an envious predicament - what should the company do with all that money?
Some think Toyota should be doing something, anything with that big stack of cash.
