1970 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 No reserve.  It will sell.

Up for sale is my FJ40 that I dreamed of restoring for the last 10 years.  It has been sitting in an inside storage shed for the last 4 years.  I have a new daughter and a new house so it is time to sell the dream.  It starts and drives however the tires will need some air.  You will need to trailer this and I would recommend either an air compressor or new tires.  It has the F engine and 3 on the tree.  It is a blast to drive.  I would recommend changing all the fluids, battery and tires if you wanted it for a daily driver.  I drove it regularly in 2005 and never had any issues.  These things are build like tanks.  The body is rough with rust all around--rust through in the back and on the fenders, surface rust on the hood and rust bubbles on the sides of the tub.  No rust through in the cab area.  It will come with extra doors that are red/orange (one has the handle on backwards and I started taking it apart but all parts are in a zip lock) that I was going to cut down to make half doors.  I would just buy a new handle from cool cruisers for about 40 bucks.  Will come with front bench seat (60/40 split) there are bucket seats in there now (they will stay).  Will come with 4 original rims and gently used hubcaps. An extra spare tire door. An extra heater and some other extra parts.   I could sell all these parts separately and make some cash but I do not have time.  .  I would like it picked up next weekend if possible but not required.  If you have any questions or want more pics just ask.  Good Luck and thank you for looking.

Please note:  This is located about 10 miles outside of Cable, WI.

Toyota sells off Tesla shares, too

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

The incredible rise of Tesla's stock price has done little to now stop two major shareholders from ditching their stake in the American EV manufacturer. First, Daimler, parent company of Mercedes-Benz, ditched its four-percent stake, and less than a week later, Toyota is doing the same thing, selling off an undisclosed bit of its Tesla investment.
The move comes as Toyota winds down sales of the RAV4 EV, which gets its batteries and electric motor from Tesla at the company's Fremont, CA factory.
"We have a good relationship with Tesla, and will evaluate the feasibility of working together on future projects," Toyota spokesperson Kayo Doi told Bloomberg via email.

Toyota investing $30 million in Indiana for more Highlander production

Sun, 28 Jul 2013

Indiana seems like the place to be if you're looking for work in a car factory. In May, Subaru announced plans to invest $400 million in its Lafayette, Indiana plant, creating 900 new jobs in the process and increasing capacity to 300,000 units per year. Now, Toyota has announced plans to invest $30 million in its Princeton, Indiana plant, 170 miles south of the Subaru factory, which also builds the Camry.
Toyota's investment will create an additional 200 jobs and increase the factory's volume by 15,000 units. Toyota announced an investment in the plant in February of 2012 that bumped volume up from 300,000 to 350,000 units. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, as the Princeton facility is officially known, produces the recently revised Toyota Highlander, the Sequoia and the Sienna. It employs 4,500 people, and this announcement represents Toyota's tenth production increase in under two years.

BMW, Toyota outline new tech joint venture, new sports car

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

Back in June, Toyota and BMW announced a "memorandum of understanding" outlining plans for the two companies to join forces on future products and technology development. On Thursday, they signed a more formal and binding agreement that goes further into detail about the partnership, and it all sounds pretty exciting. The two announced they will work together in four main areas:
Joint development of a fuel cell system
"Set up a feasibility study to define a joint platform concept for a mid-size sports vehicle"
