1976 TOYOTA FJ40. I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE I BOUGHT AN FJ43. I WAS TOLD THIS
FJ WAS RESTORED IN 2007. THE BODY IS 100% RUST FREE AND INCREDIBLY STRAIGHT. THE FJ HAS THE INLINE 6 2F 4.2L WITH A
4 SPEED TRANSMISSION. THE PAINT IS VERY VERY NICE DRIVER QUALITY. THERE IS ORANGE PEEL ON THE HOOD AND SOME DUST
UNDER THE PAINT ON THE HOOD, OTHERWISE THE PAINT IS REALLY NICE. SINCE I HAD THE FJ, I INSTALLED A BRAND NEW BEST
TOP SOFT TOP. CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTER, DID A TUNE UP WITH NEW PLUGS,WIRES,DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTOR. INSTALLED
NEW WEATHER STRIPPING ON THE DRIVERS DOOR. I HAVE THE PASSENGERS, BUT DIDNT GET A CHANCE TO INSTALL. ALSO A FEW
LITTLE OTHER THINGS LIKE NEW MIRRORS, NEW WIPERS, AND PROBABLY A COUPLE OTHER THINGS. THE FJ RUNS GREAT AND STARTS
RIGHT UP EVERY TIME. I DROVE IT FOR EVERYDAY FOR A WEEK, IT RAN GREAT! DROVE IT ON THE HIGHWAY, AND DRIVES STRAIGHT
WITH NO WOBBLE OR ISSUES. THERE IS AN AFTERMARKET TACHOMETER AND OIL PRESSURE GAUAGE THAT BOTH WORK. THE GAS GAUGE
AND TEMP GAUAGE DONT SEEM TO WORK. THE FJ DOESN'T LEAK A SINGLE DROP OF ANYTHING! I WOULD CONSIDER THE QUALITY OF
THE FJ AS VERY VERY NICE DRIVER QUALITY. THE TAILGATE IS WELDED SHUT, I HAVE NO REASON WHY, IT WAS LIKE THAT WHEN I

Toyota to recall 185k cars globally, including Yaris
Thu, 04 Jul 2013Toyota has announced it is recalling a total of 185,000 vehicles worldwide for a power steering issue. Yaris and (overseas) Vitz models built between November 2010 and March 2012 could suffer a short circuit in their power steering control module if water gets inside. Should that happen, the power steering could fail, increasing effort when turning. The recall also includes the Verso-S and Ractis built from August 2010 to August 2011. The recall covers 130,000 vehicles in Japan and around 22,450 in Europe.
Only 74 units are being recalled in the United States.
Toyota says if the fault occurs, the vehicle will display the Electronic Power Steering warning light on the dash and a buzzer will sound. The automaker will alert owners by mail and dealers will replace the power steering control module free of charge. You can read the quick press release on the recall below for more information.
Toyota fears supplier pressure in Australia with GM pull out
Wed, 11 Dec 2013With Ford and General Motors both announcing an end to production in Australia, the country's auto industry is in a bad way. With the exit of two big players, there's increased concern that a third Australian manufacturer, Toyota, will be forced out, as well.
"We are saddened to learn of GM Holden's decision. This will place unprecedented pressure on the local supplier network and our ability to build cars in Australia," Toyota Australia said in a statement. The GM closure of Holden production will be the direct end to 2,900 jobs, but will also force a dramatic reduction in the size of the country's supplier network, as there will simply be fewer cars to build.
In the same statement, Toyota Australia said it would work with suppliers and local government to figure out whether continuing production Down Under was even feasible. According to Automotive News, a representative for the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union told reporters it was "highly likely" that Toyota would also close up shop within the next few years.
