OFFERED FOR AUCTION - RESERVE BELOW VALUE

1982 TOYOTA FJ40 LAND CRUISER

OWNER ACQUIRED 5 YEARS AGO AND HAS BEEN RESTORING IT SINCE THEN.  HE TOLD ME ALL IT NEEDS TO FINISH IS A DASH BOARD AND THE 2 VENTS THAT GO OVER THE DASH BOARD.

THIS FJ40 HAS BEEN SPOILED IN ITS RESTORATION. THE OWNER SPARED NO EXPENSE, MAKING SURE ALL REPLACED PARTS WERE ORIGINAL OR CORRECT NEW REPLACEMENTS. HE EVEN HAD SOME OF THE TRIM CHROMED AT A LOCAL SHOP.

IT WAS PRETTY MUCH COMPLETELY GONE THROUGH OVER THE LAST 5 YEARS. TOP TO BOTTOM, FRONT TO REAR.

I THINK I WILL JUST ALLOW THE PICTURES TO SPEAK FOR THIS FINE VEHICLE.  THE PICTURES WERE TAKEN DURING A MORNING OVERCAST.  THE MUSTARD YELLOW FINISH IS IMPECABLE! THERE IS ALSO A PHOTO OF A FEW PHOTOS TAKEN DURING RESTORATION PROCESS. AMAZING DETAIL!

ADDED POWER STEERING AND AN ALUMINUM RADIATOR JUST TO NAME A COUPLE OF THINGS.

COMES WITH THE PICTURED 12,000 lb. WINCH WITH REMOTE (NEW).

I AM TOLD THAT THIS YEAR, 1982, IS A RARE AND VALUABLE MODEL AND THAT ONLY 300 CAME INTO THE USA THAT YEAR.

THIS WAS A LABOR OF LOVE.  THE OWNER ONLY TAKES IT FOR SHORT DRIVES ONCE IN A WHILE.

HE HAS DECIDED TO CALL IT "DONE" AND BEGIN ANOTHER PROJECT.

PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS DIRECT TO (954) 226-1745 OR VIA EBAY MESSAGING.

I CAN'T COVER EVERYTHING THAT THE OWNER HAS DONE HERE, BUT KNOW THAT HE NEVER HAD ANY INTENTIONS OF SELLING THIS VEHICLE THROUGHOUT THE 5 YEAR RESTORATION AND HAS NOW HAD A CHANGE OF HEART. THINGS HAPPEN AND HERE IT IS, UP FOR AUCTION.  PLEASE LOOK UP THE 1982 FJ40 AND SEE FOR YOURSELF THE RARITY AND THE VALUE.

THANKS FOR SHOPPING AND HAPPY BIDDING!!!

Toyota's $1.6B unintended acceleration settlement approved

Sat, 20 Jul 2013

Toyota is now one step closer to putting its unintended acceleration woes behind it as it has received approval from the US District Court for the Central District of California to settle loss-of-value claims to vehicles associated with the 2009-2010 recalls.
As we reported back in May, the Toyota settlement is worth $1.63 billion, which, according to Bloomberg, includes a payout of $757 million to affected owners, $227 million to attorneys and an additional $875 million for vehicle upgrades. (We did the math, too, and that totals $1.859 billion, but there is no justification for the discrepancy. Fuzzy math, eh?)
Based on the estimated 22.6 million vehicles said to be included in this suit, that would make the average payment about $33.49 per vehicle, but the article says that owners, lessees and even renters will receive varying amounts ranging from $9.74 up to as much as $10,000. This settlement does not affect suits filed for personal injury or wrongful death.

Toyota and Lexus show off advanced safety research vehicle [w/video]

Tue, 08 Jan 2013

While Google and Audi explore the possibilities of autonomous vehicles, Toyota and its Lexus division are studying the intermediate step of vehicles equipped with a deep suite of technology that help drivers make the best decisions. Introduced at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the Lexus advanced safety research vehicle is an LS sedan fitted with three high-def color cameras to detect objects up to almost 500 feet away, 360-degree Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) lasers that can detect objects up to 220 feet away, three radar units to keep track of other vehicles at intersections, a precision odometer on the rear wheel, GPS that estimates orientation and an accelerometer.
Currently testing at a purpose-built 8.6 acre urban testing ground at the Higashi-Fuji Technical Center in Susono, Japan the Toyota research vehicle is being used to study how to make better drivers, as well as figuring out how to reduce crashes as the industry's journey through passive and active safety systems progresses. In the event of a crash, new rescue systems are also being tested.
Further investment is being put into the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) that would use shortwave signals to harness information from the car and from other vehicles on the road, as well as roadside infrastructure and even pedestrians. Toyota reasons it could then build a picture of interactions and, for instance, alert the driver to a potential collision at a blind intersection.

2014 Toyota 4Runner priced at $32,820*

Wed, 04 Sep 2013

Toyota has announced pricing on its facelifted 2014 4Runner. The rough-and-tumble SUV will be available in three grades: base SR5, upmarket Limited and off-road-ready Trail. Depending on the trim level, buyers will have the choice of rear-drive or one of two different four-wheel drive systems. The sole engine is Toyota's 4.0-liter, 270-horsepower V6.
Entry-level buyers can get an SR5 for $32,820. That includes 17-inch wheels, fabric seats and Toyota's Entune infotainment system. Adding four-wheel drive bumps the price by $2,920, while the Premium Package (SofTex faux leather seats, navigation, sunroof, auto-dimming mirrors and power passenger seat) adds $1,875. All model prices listed do not include $860 for destination and tax.
The Trail starts at $35,725, while the Trail Premium bumps the price to $38,645, adding the same suite of equipment found on the SR5. While it boasts the same standard equipment as the SR5, the Trail is better suited for going off road. A multi-terrain response system comes standard, as does hill-start assist and Toyota's Crawl Control. For an extra sum, buyers can opt for the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, which automatically disconnects the sway bars for better articulation and trail holding.
