This is a super nice 99.9% rust free FJ-60. The stock 2F runs excellent, no smoke just had a Toyota shop replace the oil pan gasket, rear main seal and fuel pump. Trollhole carburetor conversion. The 4 speed shifts perfect and the clutch is good. The body and paint are in good shape with a few minor dings and 2 small rust spot around the rear wheel lips. The interior is clean and everything works including the AC. Pioneer CD. 4.10 gears with Aussie locker in the rear. Old Man Emu soft lift, shocks and stabilizer. 75% or better tread BFGs. Toyota to offer sedan version of GT 86?
Fri, 11 Oct 2013Sources in Australia are reporting that we'll be seeing a small, rear-drive sedan from Toyota, based on the GT 86/Scion FR-S. Yes, a convertible variant is still in limbo, but a four-door sedan is in the works. It's unclear if the rumored GT 86 sedan would spawn Scion and Subaru variants (it's hard to cross all ten fingers while you type, but we're having a go).
Working with remarks made by the car's chief engineer Tetsuya Tada in his blog and a rendering from Japanese magazine Holiday Auto, the Australian site Motoring is claiming that the new model's wheelbase will grow about four inches over the current GT 86's 101.2-inch wheelbase.
Besides the larger overall space between the axles, the sedan will offer a more potent engine option over the current 2.0-liter, flat-four. Promising 268 horsepower, which is a big jump over the current car's 200 ponies, the new powertrain will be derived from the Hybrid R setup, shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Toyota FCV Concept comes one step closer to reality
Wed, 20 Nov 2013When Toyota first conceptualized a gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle for mainstream Americans to drive, the initial response was pretty skeptical. Still, through relentless engineering and solid product after solid product, Toyota has built the Prius brand into the dominant force in the hybrid car market.
Something like that plan of attack is what the Japanese company is preparing for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, as well, and that attack is seeing a critical salvo fired today with the debut of this FCV Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show.
Though there's nothing substantive to be said about rumors of a 300-mile range or a sticker price around $50,000, the FCV concept does offer a few technical details. The sharp-beaked concept makes use of two high-pressure hydrogen tanks and boasts a power output density of three kilowatts per liter.
