195,000 miles Exceptional Vehicle spent most of its life in the South. I have enjoyed it for several years and it has been dependable and has gotten a lot of thumbs up at the gas stations from FJ80 fans. Aftermarket remote controlled stereo/CD player with amp The small hole next to the dash dimmer switch used to be a blinking red light that has since been removed. I could tell you all the features it has but between the factory standard features loaded in an LC and the pics, one can see it is aptly equipped. It is the last of the Yoda FJ's and therefore very collectible. What's more, this is not modified with a Lift Kit or non OEM components. Engine runs strong, AWD and OEM Diff Lock operating as it should. We had heavy snow this winter and I driving it through the snow was a blast. This thing went through it like butter. Offered Locally so I may end the sale at any time. While in great shape, it has a few small paint chips/scratches here and there that can probably be gotten out or touched up. Slight indentation in the back of the left rear quarter panel, immediately in front of the rear tail light, very tough to see even in person. Only one small tear in the side of the driver's seat. Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S sales disappointing worldwide?
Fri, 21 Feb 2014Okay, folks - it appears we've got a problem. The Toyota GT86, Europe's counterpart to our own beloved Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S coupes, is apparently not selling too well. This, according to Toyota's European Vice President of Research and Development, Gerald Killman, is what's limiting plans for additional variants of the rear-drive coupe.
"A faster version of that car would be at the top of most people's wish lists, but like the cabriolet, it is hard to justify a business case to push either model into production based on the current sales," Killman told AutoExpress. "Personally, I think that engine could use a little bit more," he added.
More troubling is that slow sales aren't limited to the Euro-spec car, with Killman claiming that the GT86 have been missing sales targets in major markets around the globe. It may not be that the US is one of those major markets, though. Scion's Vice President, Doug Murtha, tells Autoblog that his brand is happy with the sales of its version of the GT86, the FR-S. 18,000 units were sold last year, which Murtha says is "generally in line with original expectations for the car."

Wed, 13 Feb 2013Because the Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ coupes are now a reality, it's almost hard to imagine the struggle that had to happen within the large, conservative corporate structures at both automakers for the joint project to even get off of the ground.
Speaking to those struggles on Toyota UK's Toyota Blog, GT86 Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada enlightens us with a recap of the sports car's earliest origins. For Tada, the first stages of the project must have seemed almost as dreamlike as the final product is to drive.
Said the Chief, "I had been working in the minivan department engineering new product, but a month after the meeting I was summoned. 'Forget about minivans,' they said, 'you are now working on the sports-car project.'"
Toyota sells 3-millionth Prius
Sun, 07 Jul 2013Three generations in sixteen years and more than three million units sold worldwide - as of the end of June, those are the stats on the Toyota Prius. Even though Toyota says Prius sales might not reach the goal of 250,000 units this year, the little hybrid that could still doesn't have any problem flying off dealer lots. The second-generation Prius sold 1.2 million examples in its eight-year lifespan, and the third generation, introduced in 2009, has sold 1.7 million examples in just four years.
Toyota is also touting its investment in future powertrains, some 790 billion yen ($7.9 billion US) on research and development into new platforms and components, and "environmental technology development."
