1997 Toyota 40th Ann. Land Cruiser Base Sport Utility 4-door 4.5l on 2040-cars
Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, United States
Selling a rare low mileage well maintained 1997 40th Anniversary Land Cruiser. This is also a low number production (528). I have owned many of these trucks and looked 4 plus years to find this one. I found the truck in El Paso TX and bought it from the original owner. The dealership in El Paso sold the car and serviced. All of the manuals, remote keys, maintenance records and window sticker come with this truck. The truck was totally repainted to factory specs in 2011. Desert sun had taken its due on the paint. This truck has zero rust. Truck has never been wrecked with clean car fax but it also has all of the factory panel badges present. I purchased this truck 2 years ago and had the selling dealership bring everything back to specs. The engine was compression check before delivery and it was perfect. This truck runs perfectly. Windows, sun roof, mirrors, seats all work fine. Local dealership in Myrtle Beach SC has done maintenance since 2012. Why am I selling it…. Just need a truck. This Land Cruiser looks outstanding inside and outside and run great. Replaced in the summer of 2012. Upholstery
replaced on front and back seats with Leather Touch – I did not add the
chockalott brown, as I simply do like the combination. All done in light tan… Rear jump seats were fine and are in storage. 4 new Michelin tires Brake rotors and
pads All fluids was
replaced Cooling system
was flushed; all rubber hoses in the entire water system were replaced New plugs, rotor and distributer cap Valve cover gasket
replaced Head lights – low and high replaced with Silver Star bulbs and interior lights now are LEDs, 2014 Rotor smoothed and pads replaced Air Filter replaced The passenger tail light lens is broken with small dent as I
backed into a pole. Radio antenna motor
needs to be replaced, back door passenger side power lock actuator needs to be
replaced and if you want it perfect the cats should be replaced if you want the
“check Engine” light off. Dealership
checked and all was fine-no effect on performance. |

Toyota reveals new customizable Camatte57s kid-friendly concepts
Tue, 11 Jun 2013Toyota plans to follow up last year's kid-friendly Camatte concept with two new versions: the Camatte57s and Camatte57s Sport (right). Like the original Camatte, the two new concepts will make their debut at the International Tokyo Toy Show, which is happening this weekend.
Not much has changed with these two new Camatte models. Like their predecessor, they both feature detachable body panels (the count is up to 57), a 1+2 seating array and reconfigurable pedals that allow children to operate the gas and brakes while Mom or Dad steers. What is new is an open-top roadster design that even eschews doors in favor of easier ingress/egress. They look like something a tourist would rent to get around a Hawaiian island, though we dig the distinct personalities of each model's design.
Both cars are all-electric, though Toyota hasn't provided any other specifications, like what makes the Sport model sporty besides its more aggressive body panels and silver, black and red color scheme. That's just as well, as neither concept, like the original Camatte before them, is street legal.
Jim Lentz exposes more details behind Toyota's move to Texas
Fri, 02 May 2014Toyota's North American CEO Jim Lentz has already given us a rough idea of what prompted the company's surprise move to the Dallas suburb of Plano, TX from its longstanding headquarters in Torrance, CA. A new story from The Los Angeles Times, though, delivers even more detail from Lentz on the reasoning for the move, what other cities were considered and why the company's current host city wasn't even in the running.
Of course, one of the more popular reasons being bandied about includes the $40 million Texas was set to give the company for the move, as well as the state's generous tax rates. According to Lentz, though, the reason Toyota chose Plano over a group of finalists made up of Atlanta, Charlotte and Denver, was far simpler than that - it was about consolidating its marketing, sales, engineering and production teams in a region that's closer to the company's seat of manufacturing in the south.
"It doesn't make sense to have oversight of manufacturing 2,000 miles away from where the cars were made," Lentz told The Times. "Geography is the reason not to have our headquarters in California."
Toyota Matrix discontinued for 2014
Mon, 05 Aug 2013Between its slow sales and the upcoming redesign of the closely related Corolla sedan, things haven't been looking good for the Toyota Matrix (for some time now). After 10 years on the market, Toyota has officially announced that it will drop the Matrix from its US lineup following the 2013 model year.
The announcement was made as a part of a press release breaking down what's new for Toyota in 2014, but for now, it doesn't look like any Toyota-branded product will fill the Matrix's spot. The Matrix and its sister car, the defunct Pontiac Vibe, were the final vehicles developed under the joint venture between Toyota and General Motors, an arrangement launched back to 1984.
