I am selling a original 1978 FJ40 that I just got and will be slowly restoring. The FJ has the original 2F engine with 70K miles on her and she runs great. Most fjs will leak a little oil, well not this one-no leaking oil!! I just drained all the fluides, installed new fuel filter, new air filter, new TOYOTA fuel pump. put in new full SYNTHETIC OIL with new oil filter, new battery and it has new tires. I just pulled the radiator and will be having it recorded or replaced, either way it will perform like new. I will slowly be restoring this fj to ORIGINAL stock condition, no crazy modifications or chevy engines!!! I am a 100% STOCK guy.
The engine is good, it is the body cosmetics that need attenion. I get most of my parts from Cool Cruisers and they have preformed thicker body parts for restorations. These are NOT cover up parts, they are for cutting the old rusty metal out and new metal going in. After all the parts have been replaced, she will be getting a fresh coat of her original Toyota Freeborn red color. I will continue to slowing work on her and the price will reflect the upgrades. I have another 78 and a 82 that I am doing right now, so this one will be a good 3 weeks or so before she gets her body work done. In the pics I have some of her parts on the fj taken off as I slowly strip her down for prep. When I am done with this fj, she will be a 20K+landcruiser. I am just in the begining but you can have her somewhere along this stage and capture some of the increased value of her. If you have any questions, please let me know

Popular Science has named the winners in its Best of What's New awards, the victors coming in the categories of aerospace, automotive, engineering, entertainment, gadgets, green, hardware, health, home, recreation, security and software. The automotive category did not go wanting for lauded advancements:
Tesla Model S: the Grand Award winner for being "the standard by which all future electric vehicles will be measured."
BMW 328i: it's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gets called out for being more powerful and frugal than the six-cylinder it replaces.

Jay Leno goes offroading with the legendary Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart

Jay Leno takes a step outside of his cavernous garage for this latest video for a jaunt into the desert to get a little dirty. He meets up with off-road racing legend Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart, who has multiple Baja 500 and 1000 wins in his motorsports career, to play with a Toyota Tundra in the sand.
Unfortunately, Leno doesn't get to interview Stewart too deeply about his long history in racing, but Ironman does talk a little bit about reading the trail while speeding through the desert. In lieu of a great conversation, there is a ton of high-quality footage of the Toyota bounding through the desert.
This clip feels more like a marketing effort than the usual output from Jay Leno's Garage, but it's still great to see Stewart behind the wheel sliding a truck, just like old times. The two of them even take the truck on a somewhat humorous journey at the end of the video.

Toyota releases teaser for Kaley Cuoco Super Bowl ad

Toyota has released a 35-second teaser video for its upcoming Super Bowl spot staring Kaley Cuoco, the actress best known for her role as object-of-nerd-affection Penny on The Big Bang Theory. The real star of the ad, however, is its soundtrack, the 1995 hit "I Wish" by rapper Skee-Lo that will have your mind cashing nostalgia checks the moment it hits your ears.
We still don't know much about the content, plot or story of this Super Bowl commercial, though we can say that its object of promotion is likely the new RAV4 we see Ms. Cuoco driving in this teaser. The rest of the time she's walking the street in a purple getup granting wishes like Robin Williams on a Disney sound stage. And then the Easter Bunny and a chihuahua enter the picture and we get lost. Clint Eastwood under a bridge this is not.
But hey, Super Bowl ads cost millions and millions of dollars to produce and air, so we trust that Toyota spent its money wisely and will have us ROFLing on game day. Until then, scroll down and witness for yourself the debut of Kaley Cuoco as a Toyota spokeswoman.
