Nashville, Tennessee, United States

PLEASE read FULL description before bidding!

3/93 Toyota Land cruiser with twin diff locks.

Pictures are of actual vehicle. what you see is what you get

Motor runs but has a very bad knock that sounds like someone has a hammer inside the motor. while it starts and runs I would only drive it on and off a trailer no further and for this reason there will be not test drives.

this truck is rough. a young guy owned it and obviously did not look after it. the interior is rough, there is dents on the body, no front bumper, tires are near bald, it leaks oil and the rear bumper parts, sidesteps and mudflaps are in the back of the vehicle. there are no third row seats

plenty of good parts and if you are into 4wding or rock crawling you could either drop a motor in and use it or you could part out the diffs with diff locks for a rock crawler.

this is not a turn key daily driver. I would guess most people would look at it for parts or a long term project.

I purchased this last month but it is too much for me to fix with my limited tools and time frame

I just want to get as much back as possible but I will leave the final price up to you guys. starting bid is 99cents and the highest bidder wins.

I have tried to be as forward as possible. please ask any questions before you bid and don't just assume. I highly recommend that you come out and have a look at the car just massage me to organize a time but I am usually here Monday to Friday 7.30 to 4. I don't sit waiting for emails so it can take me a while to answer but I will answer all reasonable questions

This Land cruiser is located in Nashville Tennessee actually at my work warehouse in Madison TN 37115. I can NOT organize freight. but if you want to organize your own freight it can be picked up here Monday to Friday 7.30 to 4

2014 Toyota Highlander recalled over seatbelt anchors

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

Toyota has announced a small recall of its redesigned, 2014 Highlander over issues with one of its seat belts. The affected vehicles, which were built from November 20, 2013 to January 18, 2014, could have a seatbelt assembly in the middle seat of the third row that wasn't properly secured to a floor anchorage at the factory.
In total, 7,067 of the new Highlanders are included in the recall, which was discovered not after a crash, but during a post-build inspection at the factory. It's unclear if there have been any injuries as a result of the faulty seat belts.
Toyota is set to inform owners of the affected vehicles as well as dealers with the recalled Highlander models in their inventory. Naturally, repairs will be performed free of charge. For the full bulletin form the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, scroll down.

Unifor may establish local union for Toyota's Canadian plants

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

Union tactics apparently translate across borders, as Canada's Unifor may take inspiration from the United Auto Workers' recent move at the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, TN, and establish a local for the Toyota factories in Cambridge and Woodstock.
Unifor last attempted to organize the workers at the two factories, which are responsible for production of the Toyota Corolla (above), RAV4 and Lexus RX back in April, but that vote was eventually delayed. According to that report, 3,000 of the two plants' 7,500 employees signed union cards, but that apparently wasn't enough for Unifor to force a vote.
Because of this, the union is looking at the local approach, like what the UAW is attempting with VW.

Japanese automakers ramping production for renewed American sales

Wed, 21 Nov 2012

The 2011 earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan took quite the toll on the automotive industry in that nation. Not content to lean on that tragedy as excuse for slagging sales, the Japanese automakers are planning on a major production expansion in North America. The aim is to reclaim the market share lost from the Tsunami-based dip, and overcome a dollar/yen exchange rate that makes exporting to America unprofitable.
Following the Tsunami, Japanese automakers ramped up production in their North American facilities to compensate, but according to Automotive News, Nissan, Honda and others have all reported plans for still-further increased production in the year ahead. As part of this ramp-up, Mazda will open a facility in Salamnca, Mexico before March of 2014. Part of that increase in output is 50,000 units of a Toyota-badged compact car, which Mazda will produce.
Other Mexican production facilities opening include a Honda plant, which will open in Spring 2014 in Celaya, and a Nissan plant, set to open later this year in Aguascalientes. Nissan also said that it will need another plant in North America within the next five years. According to Nissan Boss Carlos Ghosn, the company aims to raise its stake in the US market from 8 percent to 10, and adding production will help achieve that goal. Even Mitsubishi is aiming to boost production at its Normal, Illinois plant. Production of the Outlander Sport is currently at 50,000, which Mitsubishi wants to raise to 70,000.
