An amazing economic and yet peppy car. Runs smooth and very quiet. I have some experience with Prius and I would recommend it for who has to commutes to work for the great gas mileage it delivers , our own at the house same year makes 47 MPG average!
Prius dos not have a transmission, serpentine belt, timing belt, starter or alternator and also it has a great durability on brakes since most of the effort is made by the regenerative braking at the electric motor.
Battery concerns? There were 1.3 million of this cars sold so long gone are the days that you have to go to a dealer to get any parts. Junk yard sells them at an average price of $1000, plus 2~3 hour labor to replace it ( or go to youtube to learn how to do it yourself ). Nowadays costs the same as having to buy an used transmission for a regular car. Also the battery has 38 cells that allows for replacing just of the defective cell that you can buy at ebay for $40 !!! There are many reports of these cars going beyond 200,000 miles with its original battery and taxis going beyond 350,000 miles!
The car is in Templeton MA. Winner bidder: $500 on Paypal in 24 hr. and the balance cash in person in 3 days. Questions 978 870 zero zero 33 or worcmg ( at ) Hotmail ( dot ) com

Toyota FCV rallies to the hydrogen cause as zero car
Mon, 03 Nov 2014It's been two decades since Toyota dominated the World Rally Championship with its Celica Turbo 4WD. But this past weekend, Toyota hit the rally stage in a very different vehicle.
That, as you can see, is the Japanese automaker's Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV), which is still in its prototype phase. We're still at least half a year away from seeing the FCV in production trim, but the model has already been pressed into duty as the "zero car" at the Shinshiro Rally, the last round of the Japanese Rally Championship.
The zero car, for those unfamiliar, is to rally what a pace or safety car is to circuit racing, driving the rally stage to check for signs of trouble before the competitors put their feet to the floor, so it's not as if the FCV needed extensive modifications. From the looks of things, it just needed some jazzy stripes, mud flaps, probably different rolling stock and an interior with racing buckets and harnesses, roll cage, radio equipment and maybe a bit more ground clearance.
Toyota celebrates 30 years of 4Runner with... incentives?
Mon, 24 Feb 2014Many Americans view their 30th birthdays as significant milestones, even though the average life expectancy here is more than 2.5 times that age. So you might think Toyota would be keen to party over the 30th anniversary of its 4Runner, since most models don't even live to half that age. You can put that idea away unless you consider discounts of $500 to $1,000 something worthy of cake and kazoos, since it appears that's all the birthday SUV will get. That's right, not even a trim-and-tape special edition or so much as a sticker. We asked Toyota for comment and were told they had "No other 30th anniversary 4Runner items to announce at the time."
So, about those incentives: they climb from $500 on the SR5 and Trail editions to $750 on Premium models and $1,000 on the Limited trims. Toyota says they're available at dealerships now and will last for the entire year. There's a press release below with a little more background, and there's a sad violin playing somewhere in the distance.

Toyota nears $40B cash reserve as calls grow for new investment, payouts
Wed, 05 Feb 2014With the April 15 tax deadline just a few months away, our US readers will be faced with a decision should they get a refund: save or spend? It seems this issue is one many of us face whenever there's a windfall, trying to decide whether we should set the money aside in an account of some sort or use it as a down payment on a new car or a trip to the Apple store. Unsurprisingly, major corporations face a similar, albeit more complex, issue.
Take Toyota, for example. With President Akio Toyoda at the helm, the Japanese manufacturer has gracefully weathered recalls and natural disasters, all while turning beaucoup profits. Last quarter, profits quintupled to 434.4-billion yen ($4.3-billion USD), according to Bloomberg. Toyota also upped its forecast for the end of fiscal year 2013 (which ends on March 31 for Japan), to a record 1.9-trillion yen (about $18.8 billion). Now, the Japanese brand is reportedly sitting on a cash pile of nearly $40 billion, leaving Toyoda-san in an envious predicament - what should the company do with all that money?
Some think Toyota should be doing something, anything with that big stack of cash.
