Over all this is a very sound mini van with lots of life left in it. I would drive it California and back today if I needed to."

This is one awesome mini van we have had it for many years and it has served us well. But all good things must come to an end so we are putting it up for sale. The vehicle looks a little rough on the outside but do not be deceived this mini van has been serviced religiously and has had the oil changed every 4000 miles since we have owned it. We were to second owners and got it at about 30k. It has just recently been inspected and passed with no issues. Now their is some weird issue going on with the passengers side fender the paint has decided to start peeling I have included pictures. I do not have the very rear passengers seats but it has four seats total. The tires are in good shape with plenty of tread left. Their is a tiny bit of spot rust about the size of a quarter on the rear hatch but that is all. I have had the lower ball joints and struts with new strut bushings replaced this pass summer and have KYB rear struts that I will include with the vehicle so you will have to have them installed. Again this is a very reliable and mechanically sound vehicle. I have included as many pictures as I could. The hub caps went missing a long time ago as well. Like I have posted this mini van may not look to cool but it will take you anywhere you need to go. I have just recently taken it to the NC cost fully loaded with sea kayaks and gear and got about 24 miles to the gallon and it did not skip a beat ob the trip. One last issue is the AC just stopped working the other day due to a freon leak that happens about every two years. The mechanics have never be able to find the leak and I just have been added freon every two years or so. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Toyota recalls 690,000 Tacoma trucks for rusty leaf springs, fire risk

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

Toyota has announced that it will be issuing a recall of 690,000 Tacoma pickups from model years 2005 through 2011. The affected vehicles include both the four-wheel-drive model and the two-wheel-drive PreRunner (but not the standard 4x2 pickups), which may have a rather serious problem with their rear suspensions.
In some cases, corrosion and stress could cause one of the three or four leaves in the rear suspension's leaf springs to fracture. While the trucks can still be driven with a broken leaf, Toyota is concerned that it could move out of position and impact other components in the rear of the truck, with a particular focus on the fuel tank. Needless to say, but a piece of metal continuously impacting anything, let alone the fuel tank, is cause for concern.
As of this writing, there have been no reports of crashes, injuries, fires or deaths due to this problem, although that won't stop Toyota from informing all affected customers of the issue. Those 690,000 owners will need to report in to dealers for inspections and, if necessary, repairs.

Toyota GT86 convertible on 'indefinite hold'

Sat, 05 Oct 2013

Bad news, sportscar fans. According to a new report from What Car?, Toyota has cancelled plans to produce a GT86 convertible, a model based on the FT-86 Open Concept that debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. In truth, Toyota never actually confirmed it would produce the budget-friendly droptop in the first place, but rumors have been flying since last year and Toyota reportedly showed its embattled Scion dealers a FR-S version of the convertible in August. Presumably, this means that a lidless variant of the Subaru BRZ is not in the cards, either.
The reason for the move is unknown, though What Car? reports "one possible cause is weight; Toyota did say that further work would be required on rigidity before the convertible could be launched, and that could have added extra bulk that conflict with the regular GT86's ethos of light weight and agile handling." It doesn't look like that work will happen anytime soon, as "sources now say that the car has now been delayed indefinitely, with no place in Toyota's product plan in either 2014 or 2015." Still holding out hope? What Car? says the project could be "fast-tracked" if management decides it wants to reboot the program down the road.

This first-gen Toyota Celica is one mean mother

Tue, 09 Jul 2013

Brian Karasawa's gen-one Toyota Celica is, in a word, badass. As a long-standing fan of the marque, the doting owner has tried to both restore and improve his Celica keeping period-correct modifications in mind. The 20R/22R mashup engine is outputting roughly 185 horsepower and graced with a lot of JDM-specific parts and modifications. Clearly, the exhaust has been upgraded from stock, as clips of the orange Toyota in motion are accompanied by one hell of a nice sound.
Tastes clearly vary, and there's not as much love for the first-wave of Japanese metal as there is for similar era American-iron, but we're pleased to see these cars finally getting more time in the spotlight. Scroll down below to see why we're stoked, and consider cruising your local Craigslist for late 1970s and early 1980s Japanese coolness (before we get there first).
