Model: Original Supra 5 Speed Na hardtop, factory wingless with a GTE swap. Miles: 199,100 Color: Silver on Black Clean Title, No accidents. All vin tags are present and match. The paint is 75% original. This Car is a very good example when Condition trumps mileage, there is no way people can tell the mileage of the car just by looking at it. This car is in very good Running Condition With No Issues. This is an Ultra RARE HARDTOP and on top of that it is Alpine Silver and original 5 speed. Front and rear bumpers were repainted and a dent was fixed on the rear right quarter panel. Headlights were polished and painted flat black to achieve a 97-98 look. WHEELS / TIRES The car has original TT 17” silver wheels from a 2000 JDM TT Supra. INTERIOR The car has 97 seats that have been freshly recovered with Syn leather. The dash panels have been refurbished with a fresh coat of flat clack paint. It has the original Radio in good condition with a working power antenna. Stock clock was replaced with an Autometer boost gauge. The car has a beautiful Factory Dash that has had a Cover on it, its entire life!, it looks way better than many Sub 70k miles Supras. RPS Max clutch was installed. 1997 TT automatic open diff with 3.76 gearing. New extra TT diff bushing was installed. ECU/Harness Stock 6 speed JDM ECU. JDM 6 Speed extended harness. FUEL Stock JDM 440cc injectors. Fuel dampener bypass line. TT Fuel pump. Security Two way remote Viper Alarm 3305V with two remotes. USDM TWINS The car has USDM twins with polished aristo piping. Meet the Most Elegant Automobile, and it's for sale
Sat, 08 Jun 2013Alright, so maybe "most elegant" is a bit of a stretch, but we feel safe in calling the 1992 Toyota Paseo in the video below an "automobile." High praise, we know. Still, it's clear someone loves the awkward little coupe enough to produce a hilarious video to sell the thing. Henry Floyd worked up a quick parody of the over-the-top luxury car ads we all know and loathe, and while the finished product is a little skimpy on details like price or location, it certainly doesn't hold back on the exposition.
Hell, if we didn't already have a parade of horrible ideas floating around our collective driveways, we might even be convinced to give this little heap a new home. You can check out the ad for yourself below, just don't be surprised if you find yourself with a burning desire to own a Paseo.
New version of Toyota FT-1 Concept gets racy for Gran Turismo 6
Thu, 07 Aug 2014Gran Turismo 6 has been the preferred marketing springboard for quite a few brands and concept cars since its debut last winter. Specifically the GT Vision concept idea - allowing manufacturers a built-in place to offer up new, original, drivable content - has enticed the likes of Mercedes, Nissan, Volkswagen, Toyota and more to dream big on the digital stage before pulling the sheets back on real concept cars.
In fact, Toyota teamed its live reveal of the FT-1 Concept at the Detroit Auto Show with an in-game launch of the car, just this past January. Looking for a second bite at the GT6 apple, Toyota has just released a teaser video for a new, FT-1 Vision GT version of the same concept.
The company isn't giving us much to go on save for the 30-second video, saying only that the concept was penned by Toyota's Calty Design Research team in California, and that it will "soon be available for download." By the looks of it, the new FT-1 seems to be more of a racecar than the original, without obvious changes to the basic form. No word on whether or not there's a physical concept car in the offing at a yet-to-be-named auto show. Stay tuned.
Toyota passes BMW as most valuable car brand
Tue, 21 May 2013An annual market study of the strongest brands across various industries has seen Toyota leapfrog BMW as the world's most valuable automotive brand. Toyota's 2013 brand value rose to $24.5 billion, up 12 percent versus 2012 numbers according to market research company Millward Brown's BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands list. BMW's value fell slightly; down by 2 percent to a total of $24 billion.
Mercedes-Benz finished in third place in the automotive category, up 11 percent from 2012 for a valuation of $18 billion. Honda ($12.4 billion, down 2 percent) and Nissan ($10.2 billion, up 3 percent) rounded out the top five for the category. Volkswagen was the only other auto brand that finished in the top 100 overall, in 100th place. Audi made the greatest percentage gain over 2012, up 18 percent to $5.5 billion, but finished outside of the top 100.
Technology companies dominated the overall list, with Apple, Google and IBM ranking one through three. Couture brand Prada was 2013's biggest gainer, rising by 63 percent over 2012.
